MNcruisingcouple Posted July 24, 2019 #77 Share Posted July 24, 2019 Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade to Premium Plus part way through the cruise? We'd really like to upgrade for days 4-7 to see if it we like it and if it is worth it for us. Thanks

If you prefer to pay for a $40-$60 glass, you will pay the difference, plus service charge. Personally, I use a Coravin (I work in the Fine Wine business) and don't trust the device for more than 2-3 weeks at most. Have smelled some funk, and definitely some oxidation on Coravin'd wines. They should change the writing on NCL 's site, where it is written that all drinks by the glass is included, no price limits. Nice medium bodied wine from Alexander Valley. I think the better value is the bubbles, then if you decide you want a wine by the glass, there may be more available, or just go with a glass of the Simi. That's my gameplan. It is a machine that inserts a tube through the cork to keep the rest of the bottle fresh. I've seen machines that had a dozen different wines. a 750ml bottle contains ~5 glasses of wine. When they price the wine by glass, they divide price of bottle by 4.

Ummmm....if that’s the wine you drink while cruising, I don’t expect ANY drink package is going to work for you. Just raid your cellar, pay the corkage, and enjoy. I’ve not seen a current full wine list for NCL, but I’m hazarding a guess that there are no wines of that caliber (or price) on the ship. we are on the escape this coming Sunday and we’re upgrading so we can enjoy the vueve, some cognacs, cappuccino, waters, and bottles at dinner. Yeah. Looked at what the wine list had but also WI does not have a corkage law. So about the only time we enjoy the really good stuff is when we are on vacation. That is what confuses me too now- I thought it says categorically “Any drink by the glass” in the Ts&Cs. We both love really good wines (and champagnes) and I myself am a big Single malt fan so that $35 limit could be a real dealbreaker for us. Does anyone know more? doconner Posted August 11, 2019 #99 Share Posted August 11, 2019 Earlier in the thread I saw the menu that showed the price of spirts alone, but I'm wondering if there are cocktails/martinis that are excluded from the base drinks package. I see Grey Goose is 14.95, but how what about a Grey Goose martini for instance. Or even a Grey Goose and tonic, does the cost of the tonic push it over $15 and out of the drinks package? Thanks,

Thanks, We ordered several Grey Goose martinis last week aboard Joy and there was never an up charge over and above the $15 limit. Incidentally, we didn’t learn about this Premium Plus package until we saw this thread 2 days before we disembarked. We didn’t see any advertisements about it anywhere. No flyers in our stateroom to my knowledge. I asked the Ocean Blue wine steward about it the last night of the cruise, and yes, he knew all about it! To quote him, he said “ANY” glass is available on the Premium Plus package. No mention of a $35 cap. Having said that, if I actually had the Plus package, I wouldn’t definitely verify what he said before I placed an order for anything over $35! To quote an old saying “Trust, but verify!”
