Rare Peachypooh Posted July 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2019 We are going to book a 2 bed/2 bath suite on a Jewell class ship instead of the haven ones. They are more reasonable in cost and we hardly use the small Haven area anyway. Is there a suite waiting lounge with food in Miami or MCT? Also is there priority embarkation and disembark at ports? Thanks.
YVRBassElectric Posted July 21, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2019 Yes suite guests get the same embarkation/disembarkation as Haven guests
Bootman4U Posted July 21, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2019 I can tell you from personal experience in the Haven that you get escorted to the front of the disembarkation line if you do early disembarkation. It has, for us, been done via crew/service elevators accompanied by the Concierge. I cannot comment on "regular" disembarkation times.
Girr Posted July 21, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2019 Having stayed in the Haven and non-Haven suites on the Jewel you currently have the same perks. You'll be checked in using the suite waiting lounge, and then escorted on board for lunch. Normally for priority disembark you'll be given a location to meet and then escorted off ship by the concierge. For port embarkation I've never had a need for priority; however, in tender port there's normally a line for suite guest. Now, this is all subject to change once NCL changes cabin classifications in 2020.

Yes we just had an owners suite on the dawn and have been in the Haven previously, same waiting lounge, even the signage still says Haven.

bonvoyagie Posted July 23, 2019 #9 Share Posted July 23, 2019 Look at any of the deck plans for the jewel class ships and there is a link to before and after the Fall of 2020. While the rooms are not changing - the categories are The SF suites are being broken into two categories - the 4 on deck 10 are being separated from the ones on decks 8 and 9 also the two innermost SE suites that are a bit larger than the others are also being put into a separate category - my guess is that the price will also go up. The new descriptions also indicate that butler and concierge service may not be available to all suites - most likely the old SFs on decks 8 and 9. BTW currently you will receive all of the suite perks - including escorts off the ship via back stars with the concierge. On our last cruise we were escorted to the head of the tender line and inserted just before you go down the gangplank to the platform.

If they take suite perks away I will considering changing my cabin.
MNcruisinWkids Posted July 24, 2019 #11 Share Posted July 24, 2019 Debating on upgrading to a haven suite from a regular suite. So the only difference is being in the Haven? Still get butler/concierge/priority?
Girr Posted July 24, 2019 #12 Share Posted July 24, 2019 Currently the only difference between haven suites and non-haven suites on jewel class ships is access to the haven area. Besides that you have the same suites benefits.

See if it says butler and concierge services, and take a screen shot. Those Deck 10 aft-facing PHs are being split into their own category, leading to the speculation that higher prices will be charged, and perhaps they will retain certain suite benefits (maybe Butler) that the PHs on Decks 9 and 8 won’t. But that is only speculation! All of the new categories start with “S,” which for NCL so far means suite. Good luck!
Rare Laszlo Posted July 24, 2019 #14 Share Posted July 24, 2019 Boarding for suites - Haven in the Jewel class ships is very similar to ships with Haven cabins like the Escape. In NYC the Haven room is very small but things move along pretty fast. We were in the first group of Haven pax and our boarding started at 10:50am. We were escorted up by a few of the butlers, taken on the elevators and right to the Haven lounge. Food and drinks were all ready. It was announced our cabins were ready by 11:30am
