How is the company policy for celebrating milestones onboard?

Recommended Posts

How is the company policy for birthdays and wedding anniversary’s?

Since you can report this when you book your cruise.

We celebrated 5 years wedding anniversary onboard Equinox. We now it was listed in the booking. But it was no one that greeted us or wished us a nice day.

We don’t ask for a big thing. But it felt a little disappointed, it is a small milestone hitting 5 years as Mr & Mrs.

Last year we went on Symphony of the seas during our 8 year wedding  anniversary. Didn’t expect anything. But we got a little cake that had real candle for dessert, wishing us happy anniversary.

We had the same thing happen. Cruised Celebrity for the first time as our 5 year wedding anniversary (Equinox early 2018). Reservations asked if we were celebrating anything special and it was marked on our booking. Saw it listed and it was confirmed in a later phone call.

Anniversary came and went, not a peep onboard. No congrats, nothing. Was very disappointing.

I don’t bother telling X now about special occasions. That way I am not disappointed by having it ignored.

We have had 4 anniversaries on Celebrity of varying 'years' and always had a nice cake with a candle in the speciality restaurant we have been eating at. To be honest, we've always dropped a hint that it was our anniversary when booking it ;-)

Last year we also had a lovely display of towel animals, rose petals, a cake and a bottle of wine for our anniversary when we returned from our meal.

Am surprised some of you had nothing. The fact that there are anniversary cards around must be a bit of a give away for them surely !!!

It is our 25th this year and would expect them to do something, even if just the small cake

It’s interesting that other people have had the same experience as we have.

We went on celebrity Reflection for our honeymoon and were given nothing, not even some towel animals and a happy honeymoon note. Then we went on the Eclipse for our first anniversary and we got a gift, wine and a nice note. We didn’t care about them acknowledging a wedding anniversary which happens every year but we really did mind about them not making our honeymoon feel special which is something you only do once.

Its weird that that different ships have different ways of doing things.

We sailed on my husbands 65th and 70th birthdays. I was told there would be a cake in the dining room both times .  Nothing for either one . Funny though as the morning of his 70th I saw our dinging room waiter at OVC in the morning and he approached me and said he would have the cake that night.. guess he forgot.

Dear Norwaylady,

Years ago even on the Zenith before and after being taken over by RCl : NYSE we had niceites.

Even a few Tusen Taaks too..

Now nothing.

Oh well.

In the age old adage,, forget they ignorant for they not know what they do!

Pray for them.
