Sel de Mer

Firts time at Rudi's. How is the branzino? Any suggestions of not to be missed selections? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Branson is excellent.

The fruits de Mer ($25 surcharge) is lots of fun if you have enough to help you eat it.

 

Escargots are the French style and I enjoy them.

 

lobster was quite decent and the Dover sole is filleted at the table and very tasty.

 

oh, and the three piece appetizer with the different seafood is fun and good too and not too heavy.

The Salzburger Nockerl soufflé for dessert is wonderful. The calamari appetizer is also excellent.  The French baguette with dips they bring to the table are addicting.

Dover Sole. Escargots, and Crepes Suzette:  I have had them twice this year, first on the Nieuw Statendam's stand alone Sel de Mer and then in the pop-up at the Pinnacle Grill on Westerdam.  Excellent both times with excellent, attentive service, including my wine service.

 

Maybe the next time, I can "wean" myself from these three favorites?

Foie Gras....oh so  good.  The steak frites are awesome as is the Duck Cassoulet. Fresh cod was awesome grilled.

On Bob's (@rkacruiser) recommendation, we tried Sel de Mer on the Koningsdam and really enjoyed it. The portions were huge so be careful not to over-order or you will not be able to walk back to your cabin!

We think Rudi’s on the pinnacle class is the best speciality restaurant in the fleet. Steak was better than Pinnacle grill. Mariners discount applies to ala carte pricing.
