If you haven’t already done so, it would be good to ask on the RCI board as well. You could also call RCI’s shorex desk and ask them for more details.

Which castles does this tour visit? Last summer, pre-cruise, we took a private tour out of Copenhagen that included Kronborg Castle (Hamlet’s Castle) and Frederiksborg Palace.  I did not find Kronborg that interesting inside, but Frederiksborg is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever seen. Sort of a Danish Versailles.

Anyone done the Castles of North Zealand tour with Royal Caribbean?  was Hamlets castle an inside tour? general thoughts on the tour?

I am not sure about ship excursions, as we usually prefer to book private tours with local travel companies. A couple of years ago we took a private tour that included Kronborg & Frederiksborg Castle. Honestly, it was one of our favourite days of the cruise. Our guide was so knowlegeable and talked pretty much nonstop as we drove to North Zealand and in the museums. To answer your question, we also did go inside Kronborg Castle and enjoyed it as much as other spots on the tour. Overall it was a great day!

we're looking to go to both the Rosenburg Castle and the Fredericksburg Castle of a tour, along with maybe a canal boat tour.  I've written to Alla and SPB tour groups to find out if they offer this.

How long are you docked in Copenhagen? Do you have an overnight there? Unless you book a private tour, I suspect that you will have difficulty finding a group tour that offers both of the castles and a canal tour.

Rosenborg Castle is located in Copenhagen & contains the crown jewels (I believe that Alla offers a tour of the castle on her Copenhagen tour).

Frederiksborg Castle is not located in Copenhagen - it is actually located in Hillerod (about 45 -50  minutes from Copenhagen) & is home to the Museum of Natural History. The location is absolutely stunning but be aware that the original castle was destroyed in a fire in the mid 1800's and what you see today is a careful reconstruction. Alla offers this option on a private tour.

There are a number of canal tour options in Copenhagen and you can easily book one yourself (we like Netto Badene from Nyhavn) . However, since you may have limited time in the city, I would suggest that you carefully budget your time. No problem with timing if you have an overnight in the city as this would allow ample time to enjoy the city and also the Danish Riviera, Nordseeland (where Frederiksborg & Kronborg (Shakespeare's Hamlet's castle) castles are located).

If you are comfortable with DIY and have an overnight in the city, it is quite easy to visit the castles and take a canal cruise. We took the train from CPH to Frederiksborg - very inexpensive & easy to do. The HOHO bus will cover all of the sights within the city of CPH & you can also easily take a canal cruise. You can book your tour tickets online for Rosenborg castle - audio guides are available in English.

does anyone know the easiest way to get from the cruise port to Nyhavn and / or Gammel Strand to pick up the Netto boats? Which area would be easiest and quickest from the cruise port? Thanks

This would depend upon the docking location of your ship. There is a big difference in the way one would access the Netto boats from the piers at Oceankaj v the pier at Langelinie. So ... where is your ship docking?

BTW ... a taxi is usually the easiest and quickest form of travel (although not the least expensive - especially in Copenhagen which is a very expensive city).

The docking locations are not yet available for your date - you can check the port of Copenhagen after the first of the year & it should be there. Most likely, your ship will dock at Oceankaj as that is where the Silhouette has docked in the past. Quickest & easiest route to the Netto boats would be via taxi.

Langelinie is much closer to Nyhavn than Oceankaj. It is only about a 30 minute walk from the Langelinie pier to Nyhavn. If you prefer, you can walk to Indiakaj (short walk) and take the bus (#27 - 2 stops) to Osterport. From Osterport, take Metro (#3 - 2 stops) to Kongens Nytorv - Nyhavn is a short 5 minute walk from here. This would be the most affordable option but the trip would take about 30 minutes.

The taxi would be less of a hassle and the trip would take about 10 minutes. So, if ease and time are your primary considerations, the taxi would be the better choice. Personally, we loved walking from Langelinie (you can check the route on Google maps).

Check the port schedule in 2021 to see you exact docking location.
