Adding passenger to room last minute?

I have tried two times and not been able to add someone last minute due to lifeboat capacity issues.  I've ready, but don't have first hand knowledge, it is better to add them earlier and then have them cancel or no-show.

Is this possible?  Say you book a room as one or two people, can you add a second or third passenger last minute?

It is definitely possible. The cabin must be able to hold another person, AND the life boat zone must have the capacity for another passenger.

It is always a good idea to add them as soon as you know that they are joining you, but unless they are traveling as a third or fourth free in a cabin don't add tehm until you know they are going. Canceling can be expensive.
