Vancouver and misc questions

We depart from Vancouver next Monday, yeah! I received an email saying they expect delays as there is 3 ships that day. It said if booked your hotel through them you would receive boarding instructions at your hotel (we did and are at the PP). Said deck 8 at 10:30, deck 7 at 11, etc. We are staying in the PS and I thought we would be one of the first on...not a huge deal but I wanted first access to the concierge in the NL so that I could get some reservations set up. Of course, I don’t know what I will find out once we get to the hotel. My question is if they give me a later time should I go by that or just show up lol? What should I expect with 3 ships leaving?

Internet....I noticed it says it is for one device. So, if we want two devices running them we need to buy two packages? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Pinnacle Grill.....we have two sea days and we want to try lunch at the PG due to the great reviews on here. Do you make reservations for that or is it first come?

Thank you!

Yes, you are allowed to go anytime and should be escorted on the ship.  You should have no issue getting your reservations.  Have the dates & times you want written down so when you meet the concierge it will be quickly done.

Vancouver weather is supposed to be decent next week-have a wonderful cruise.

Be careful using that second device.  Someone recently posted that they were charged for two packages when they used two devices.

Yes, make use of the concierge.  One of those ladies will be happy to make all reservations for you.  If you encounter any problem, simply see them.  They will even print your onboard statement and boarding pass for flight home.  You never have to visit the Front Desk.  It's one of the nice perks of staying in a NS or PS.

Not sure which ship you are on, but we were on the Westerdam starting Sept. 1, and when I signed up for my internet I thought we would get 1 plan and share it (you can't use both devices at the same time). However, there was an option to cover 2 devices on one plan, at a price lower than the cost of getting 2 separate plans, so I got that. Both devices could be used at the same time, but my husband had to use my password to sign on to his device. Much more convenient than sharing.

If you want to use two or more devices and you will be close to each other (like me and hubby, him on phone, me on Kindle) you can always go with a travel router + lipstick battery combo. We use the TP-Link N300 Wireless Portable Nano Travel Router plus a Anker PowerCore 13000 Portable Charger which is a little larger but we can charge several devices off it so that is nice. I know POA1 turned us onto this kind of setup and it works great.

Hi,

We sailed out of Vancouver last year exact same date, three ships with one of them being Norwegian Bliss which has over 6,000 passengers, and the Bliss is in again this Monday when you are leaving.  With the three ships, Approx. 10,000 people embarking.  As we knew it was going to be a crazy day, we went to the port extra early around 9:00am, luckily they had immigration open early we were able to have our luggage scanned, go through immigration and get checked in, all very fast, Then we had to wait for an hour in seats, however they let us board early at 10:30am, advising us that the cabins were not ready but we could all go up to the buffet.  Never, have been on so early.  In my opinion be there around 9:30am, as this is going to be an extra busy day.  As the Bliss is so large, this is their one annual visit.  I believe it is the largest ship to be in Vancouver port.  Have a great cruise.

I think the issue there was the first package was purchased online under the primary party's name - her husband - and when she went to guest services to help her log on they put a plan in her name...which would have been okay but her husband then logged into the original plan and...voila...two plans two charges which weren't discivered until the last day.

Actually i would say enjoy the city some more and go to lunch down in Gas light town.

Then head over around 1:30 and getting should be easier.

Plus each ship has their own area and line. If you go around 10 am there could be long lines already and they lone up on sidewalks.

Later is better. I was lucky as only my ship Ovation of the seas was in port.
