craftykitty Posted September 28, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2019 We will soon be doing a short sailing on the Meraveglia and are wonding about the cost of soft drinks and cocktails when you don't have a beverage package. Also the cost of drink purchases at Ocean Cay. Is is worth the price of the day cost here. The issue at hand is my husband doesn't drink alcohol, I do enjoy a cocktail or two but not a lot. Is it worth $60 to purchase the package for the day while on Ocean Cay? Deborah

There's loads of drink menus posted on this site, you can see them. The vast majority of alcoholic drinks are between $6-12usd, mainly around $8-11. Non-alcoholic drinks run about $2-5 or $6. I assume same will go for Ocean Cay, although no one knows yet as no one has visited as it's not open yet. Personally, I don't think the drink package for the island would be worth it for you guys, given what you say you drink - but who knows, maybe you'll spend the entire day/evening there, want a fair few drinks - and then it would make more sense. Only you know that.
craftykitty Posted September 29, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted September 29, 2019 Thanks for the reply, it's not likely I'd have more than two drinks with alcohol and hubby will not have any. You've helped make our decision.

craftykitty Posted September 29, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted September 29, 2019 One other quick question, is there a soda package without all the fancy drinks? and if so, any idea of pricing?
Rare Beamafar Posted September 29, 2019 #6 Share Posted September 29, 2019 (edited) There used to be, but MSC has done away with them in favour of the all-inclusive packages. There is a non-alcoholic package: Edited September 29, 2019 by Beamafar
craftykitty Posted September 30, 2019 Author #7 Share Posted September 30, 2019 Too bad, hubby will just want Diet Cola and the price will be more than it's worth.
FMZ Posted October 4, 2019 #8 Share Posted October 4, 2019 I'm confused.. so if you already bought a drink package for the cruise is it valid on Ocean Cay or do you have to buy another one just for the day? 🙄 Thank you
Lookn4Sun Posted October 5, 2019 #9 Share Posted October 5, 2019 I'm thinking of doing the non-alcoholic package, knowing that: a) I like to drink coffee a lot - and premium coffee drinks especially (caffeine and sugar! yes!☕). While on a cruise, three - six cups a day is quite possible for me; think of it as the hobbit way of coffee; before breakfast coffee, breakfast coffee, after breakfast coffee, before lunch coffee, after lunch coffee, mid-afternoon coffee.... you get the idea. b) I also like to have the non-alcoholic frozen drinks 🍹- coco coladas, virgin daiquiris, etc. This depends on how hot it is, if I've been dancing, out in the sun, want to just have something fun to drink that's not caffeine (just sugar). c) I don't usually use bottled water, but I might go for a tea, or some hot chocolate or ice cream If I have three large lattes and three non-alcoholic frozen drinks, it would be $31 ... so $29 seems worth it, as I'll likely have more than that. But that's me 😁 On the other hand, it looks like the Meraviglia doesn't have a coffee shop, unless it is part of the chocolatier (and would those coffees be included?) - I don't mind going to a bar to get coffee, but it would be nice to not have to. Does anyone know if there is a separate coffee shop on the Meraviglia?
perakcruiser Posted October 5, 2019 #10 Share Posted October 5, 2019 Yes the Meraviglia has a cafe. It is called Infinity Bar. I spent a lot of time there and with your consumption the non-alcoholic package is worth the money :D Try the frozen coffee drinks!
Preziosa Posted October 5, 2019 #11 Share Posted October 5, 2019 I have heard that the coffee etc not are included in chocolatier bar in the Galleria
Rare Beamafar Posted October 5, 2019 #12 Share Posted October 5, 2019 Just now, Preziosa said: I have heard that the coffee etc not are included in chocolatier bar in the Galleria You're correct - nothing in the Jean-Philippe franchise (there are 2 venues) is included, regardless of what package you have, nor is it included for YC guests.
