Walking the Promenade on Star Princess

Hey all, I did a search and couldn't find the information I want. I remember reading it on a previous post and the question I have is How many laps around the promenade deck is a mile. I'm starting to walk and want to take advantage of our sea days. We are on the Star, Nov 4  to Hawai'i.

Right about 3 laps = 1 mile.

That sounds about right.  I usually do 12 laps or 10,000 steps.  Take the stairs and stay off the elevator!  If it's raining out, walk inside on the upper decks.  You'll get pretty close to the same amount of distance as walking on  deck 7.

They usually have a sign posted (I recall seeing it near the aft) telling the approximate distance as number of laps/mile.

It seems as though I am always walking against traffic.  I was once "reminded" that there is a correct path, but can never remember it.

Counter Clockwise, but don't worry, you will still be walking against traffic.  You were not the only one walking against traffic. 😉

The correct path depends were the sun is in the sky. You want to optimize your path so when on the sun side of the ship you are walking so the sun is not going in your eyes but over your shoulder.

Just off the Star and I walked the Promenade deck several mornings.  2.5 laps is a mile.

Not that i walk the promenade often.  I can do ... maybe 2 laps ... before I need refueling.

Has anyone ever seen someone run?  I have seen a ship tour video and saw lots of walkers and was wondering if there are runners too.  Thanks.
