Sea Belle Posted October 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2019 I have read that discounted cruises do not get the OBC from stock purchase. What constitutes a a “discounted cruise if this is a fact?
JeffElizabeth Posted October 12, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2019 Curious about this. We found a very cheap cruise on the Rotterdam in February. I do know one woman, former flight attendant who got special pricing but wasn't allowed to use her Carnival stock bonus.
suec12 Posted October 12, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2019 CCL is much more generous with their stockholder benefit than RCL. We took a cruise that we booked about a month out, so discounted from earleir bookings and got the credit. If you see a cruise you like, call and ask - hopefully you will get a knowledgeable person at the cll center.
Gigi1977 Posted October 12, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2019 I think ‘casino’ priced cruises do not get OBC from stock . . . ? I know our ‘private sale’ (for mariners) have always gotten stock credit - and some of those have been very nicely priced.

I think you are correct on this, except that we have gotten it on cruises with "casino DISCOUNT". Casino PRICED cruises are much different I understand. On Royal Caribbean, if you have the balcony discount, I don't think they'll give the shareholder's benefit. We used to own Royal Caribbean stock, and I NEVER got any OBC from them. Rare Hlitner Posted October 12, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 12, 2019 We have never had our CCL Stockholder credit denied on dozens of cruises, no matter what discount of promotion we used. That being said, we have never had a casino discount as we prefer to avoid that ashtray stinking casino. Hank
wyobean Posted October 12, 2019 #8 Share Posted October 12, 2019 We have always gotten our CCL OBC. We have had the casino discount on several cruises and got to use our CCL OBC. We have never gone on an actual casino priced cruise. Hlitner, what kind of cruises have you been unable to use your CCL OBC on?
lindaler Posted October 12, 2019 #9 Share Posted October 12, 2019 I was told that if the cruise was booked as a casino cruise trip, like the ones they send you in the mail, you can't use your CCL stock OBC, but getting a casino discount on a regular cruise you can. What my PCC said was that on the shareholder benefit letter it says, "anyone cruising on a reduced-rate or complimentary basis are excluded from using these OBC." He said that an offer from the casino was different than a bonus reduction from the casino on a regular cruise.
