New to RCL, 2 questions Formal night and casino

Hi,

New to RCL.  We're taking a three day weekend cruise to the Bahamas next week. 2 questions...

Is there a formal night, and what is the minimum dress requirement to be allowed into the MDR?  Yes, I know RCL posts guidelines, but so many lines don't follow them.  Are dress pants and a nice shirt okay?  Do I need a jacket and tie?

If you need more cash in the casino,  some lines allow you to get cash in the casino on your S&S and they post it as a purchase, so you don't get slammed with cash advance fees.  What does RCL do?

Thanks folks!

There are formal nights and I'm not sure there is a minimum requirement to get into the MDR.  Royal does not enforce the suggestions, so many ignore the suggested dress.  You will see the full gamut, from shorts and t-shirts to tuxedos.   I would expect that nude would not be allowed, but who knows where they would draw the line.

There are machines on some ships that will give you play from using your SeaPass card.    You can choose an amount and immediately cash out if you like.

Thank-you!  Just what I needed to know.

I would say that the minimum requirement is "clothes".  😉

On Navigator and several other ships, you can charge to your Seapass card on the slot machine. It will show on your Credit card bill as “Casino-Entertainment” so there is no cash advance fee. There is also no fee from Royal Caribbean if done that way. However, if you charge cash to your room at the Casino cage, there is a 5% fee unless you are a Club Royale Prime tier or above.

They don't enforce any sort of "dress code"....except men must wear shirts with sleeves (no tank top shirts on men), and everyone must wear shoes.  And pants or bottoms of some form.

You are fine in casual slacks and shirt.

Tank tops have been reported in the MDR.
