We will arrive in Schiphol in October, 2020 for a HAL cruise out of Rotterdam.  We need a hotel for 3 nights.  We want one near lots of good restaurants, and it would be a plus if it had a quality restaurant in the hotel.  Everything should be within walking distance.   Any suggestions ?

Most cruisers prefer to stay either in Hotel New York (the former HAL headoffice and next to the cruise terminal) or the old ss Rotterdam. Also next to the cruise terminal is the NHow Hotel. All have their own restaurants and around them you will find some restaurants.  However it is not walking distance from the center, you need public transport, or watercab for that.

More citycenter is the Hilton Hotel, also Citizen M, Mainport Design Hotel and near Centraal Station also the Marriott . Just to name a few.

We have stayed in Rotterdam Hilton.  We walked from the train station to the hotel towing two suitcases and two carryons! (I use bungee cords to tie the two suitcases together and they wheel along as one!)   Many shops and restaurants close by.

We ate in the hotel one night and it was good.  Staff were friendly and attentive.

Hotel New York is next to the terminal. For some it is walking distance from the center, for others the metro station is at walking distance and offers a short ride to the center of Rotterdam (and many other locations). Watertaxi is another (nice) possibility. Restaurants: in the hotel and quite a few at walking distance from hotel and terminal. The ss Rotterdam is another very nice possibility as a hotel. Watertaxi to the terminal (and other stops) in Rotterdam. The ss Rotterdam offers a shuttle tot the terminal for passengers who use their parking during the cruise, so it is quite possble they offer the same for guests.
