As already mentioned, the activities available to your son and nephews are the same that are available to you (pool, comedy, shows, trivia, etc), except drinking seminars/wine tastings/etc.  They can spend time in/at the bars, but all drinks would be non-alcoholic.  There are quite a few good sounding mocktails available if they want a "fun" drink.

 

Since you mentioned introvert game players, they might want to research the arcade (some days have "power hours" with reduced charges) or quiet spots on the ship for their own gaming.  Depending on the type of game they enjoy, they may want an indoor space due to potential wind on upper decks.  We took our then 18yo and 14 yo on a cruise for the oldest's high school graduation and they had a great time, and the 14 yo only minimally joined kids club activities.

 

There should be no problem switching rooms once you board.  Some people do this as a way for only one person to buy Cheers if it doesn't make sense for both to get.

sounds more voluntary than mandated, beer was all over my college, no problem finding a 6 pack. Also assuming you never were out of the country?

To everyone who thinks I think all 18-year-olds want to do is drink. That's not at all what I am hinting at. I am just saying, it might be cool for an 18-year-old to try a specific beverage for the first time. But what do I know, I cannot comment on what others may or may not feel.

I saw the wink and quotes and figured you were joking about that being your first 🙂 

 

Statistically the 18yo will also have tried a drink before arriving at the islands even if it wasn't legal.  It is nice that there is a semi-controlled environment to try if they want on the island though for the rare older teens who haven't drank yet but would like to without the pressure of college parties to over indulge.

Agreed.   Our son turned 18 this summer and doesn't seem overly excited about he prospect of "drinking" in Mexico.   I'm sure he'll try something but it won't be much.

However, he's incredibly excited that he can now join us in the casino
