Meet & Mingle was well-attended. The usual welcome and prizes given out. But it was held in the Aquatheater, so not much mingling. Free mimosas, champagne, and rum punch. Pretty nice prizes for this cruise. Thermal spa passes. Free private time on the Flowrider ($500 value). At the end, they gave a lovely bottle of wine from Caymus Vineyards. 😊

Great President’s talk this morning. Not all questions were answered to guest satisfaction, but I think it proved interesting just the same. 
 

 

Outlined the timeline for new ship builds and land projects.

And of course, by now, you’ve heard that the 2020 President’s Cruise has been announced. They allowed those of us in attendance to “vote.” (Or so they say.)

 

There were a few options from which to choose. First up:

I know, right!? Better and better. 
 

Then, they got serious. 
 

 

 

 

After a snafu with the date for the Allure Mediterranean Cruise was corrected, we learned that is the winner. 
 

The 2020 President’s Cruise will be on Allure of the Seas 10/25/20 round trip Barcelona.

They gave away several great prizes here at the President’s talk as well. $50 OBC, $100 OBC, 50th Birthday logo products, dinners in the Specialty Restaurants, $1000 American Airlines vouchers, plus a free 3 or 4 night cruise, and a free Inaugural Odyssey of the Seas Cruise.

Made our commemorative coins today. You line up anytime during your assigned time. The line is long, but it moves pretty quickly. 
 

 

The coins start out as solid, plain, flat discs.
 

 

Everyone is given their coin and are given the option to swing the hammer themselves, or have help.

Thanks for this live thread. I've only just caught up with it as I was aboard Allure for the last two weeks until yesterday.

I know it's probably unlikely but if you see any black shirted AV (audio visual) crew guys. One is Adolfo from Venezuela. Please say  'Hi" from me, his father in law👍

We had lunch today up on Deck 16. 
 

 

 

Hooked Seafood serves dinner every night and lunch on sea days. They also have Happy Hour specials starting at 5:00pm.

They start by bringing warm, buttery cheese biscuits to the table. 
 

 

Mark ordered the grilled shrimp salad and I decided to try the clam & crab chowder.

We both tried the Maryland Crab Cake. 
 

 

I thought the cole slaw had a little too much mayonnaise, but Mark ate it for me, so I guess he thought it was pretty good. 
 

I ate exactly zero French fries. There was way too much food. Next time, no apps. Or maybe no dessert...yeah, no apps. 

 

 

Dessert was warm cherry pie with vanilla ice cream.

I’m not sure how much it is at lunch. I just tried to look it up on the app and there’s just a dollar sign. 🤔 We have the unlimited dining package, so had a $0.00 bill, and only left a gratuity.

The cheese biscuits have fresh scallions baked into them. Scallions are entirely acceptable. 😁

Dinner tonight was at Jamie’s Italian. We ate a small dinner, because we just weren’t very hungry. Downside to the UDP.
