Cheers in Europe

I'm sure in here this question has been answered but I am not having luck in finding it.   

 

Why do they not offer the Cheers program for European cruises?  I really appreciate the program and am disappointed it won't be available for the trip I just booked. 😞

Because you can pretty much take alcohol on at embarkation and in the ports.

Technically no but they aren’t as strict and don’t always have a table set up.

Arn’t as strict is an understatement.  In Barcelona there is a full liquor store after security before you get on ship.  We brought back wine from almost every port with zero problems.

Not strictly due to taxes.  Even on the itineraries where VAT is not charged they still don't offer cheers.

if there is another reason, it would have to be uniformity for staff sake.
