Leaving Miami port, but need suggestions on hotel/motel

We will be flying in late to Miami, FL.  We will only be staying overnight for just a few hours, and then headed for our cruise at the Miami port.  Could you suggest a "name" of hotel/motel in the Miami area that is not too expensive to stay a quick overnight at?

Lots of options discussed on this board.

Last Miami cruise we came in late the night before and stayed at the Hyatt Place Miami airport East.  Free  shuttle was available  to pick us up at the airport- hotel was only about 2 miles away.  It was late so we opted for a cab -- fare was $7.

Free breakfast was good.  Free wifi.   They have food available 24/7 part restaurant and part pre-made late pick up options.   Full bar with lots of other cruise guests.   an  Embassy Suites next door had a restaurant (according to other guests).    it's pretty isolated if you don't have a car but was perfect for a late arrival/departure to pier in morning.  Shuttle to pier for 2 was more expensive than Uber and about the same as a cab.

this cruise, we're staying at the Hampton in Brickell as we're coming in two days early.

Enjoy your vacation!

La Quinta East is a budget option near the MIA airport with free airport and port shuttles - popular with cruisers,  The MIA Embassy Suites also offers both airport and port shuttles.

Nicer area, with nearby shopping options for last minute cruise supplies is the Blue Lagoon neighborhood - Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, etc.  I believe they charge a fee for port shuttles, or you can use Uber or Lyft for about $20 for the car.

There are countless amount of hotels near the airport that have hundreds and thousands of reviews on trip advisor. Some of the larger hotels in the Blue Lagoon area are a bit nicer but a bit more expensive than say the random hotels/motels close to airport near and on 36th street.

The airport is not very far from the port so you can easily cab/Uber over to the port the next morning.

If you found a good rate for a hotel in downtown or brickell you can do that too. With the amount of time it takes sometimes to wait for an hotel airport shuttle its easier to just get an Uber to Downtown/Brickell and then you have a very short and cheap ride to the port and even a nice spot to wake up and grab some breakfast.
