Postage cost onboard

Just sent a postcard from the Aurora to UK while in Rotterdam and the cost was £3.50. Ummm not long ago it was .80p to send a postcard from the ship.

€ 1,45 is the cost.  Yet another profit centre for Carnival then.

 

Still, since it cross-subsidises the cost of cruises, may I respectfully suggest that all passengers should avail themselves of this wonderful service?

I am afraid if people dont get off the ship and buy a stamp and post it themselves which is easy enough to do then I am afraid if they ask others to do it they will be charged a premium price why should P&O do it for others. It has been a number of years since it was 80p to send post from a P&O ship.

Plus it takes so much longer to actually arrive.  I usually send postcards using the local post office, but my husband got so fed up trailing round after me one trip looking for a post office ashore once, that I used the ships service and it took at least 2 weeks longer than any others!

Yes, it's easy enough unless you are disabled.

I think it is a good service and remember P&O would need each postage stamps for each country they visit.  I assume they dump all postcards with port agent who then sends them causing a delay.

Or why not upload your own photo to one if the various sites available, and send that as a postcard ?
