CruiseLoverFromNorCal Posted November 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2019 Hi everyone, I recently cancelled my NCL cruise for a “non-covered reason” and since I had the book safe travel protection insurance I will receive a 75% future cruise credit. Since I do not want to book another cruise, is there any way I could get this credit refunded back to my credit card? Thanks in advance!
tallnthensome Posted November 30, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2019 No, that’s not how it works. It’s a credit and not offered as a cash refund . Two very different things.

Had you considered that another cruise wasn't going to happen before booking this one? Were you aware of the terms of the policy when buying it?

Nola26 Posted December 2, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2019 You can get cash back in the amount of $0, if that is what would have been available to you as a result of the cancellation policy. Not trying to be snarky, just showing what you get when you cancel within certain windows. I've recently cancelled cruises deep into the window, I lost 75% of what I paid (taxes and pre paid service charges were fully refunded). I did not have the travel protection so I was exposed as per the cancelation policy. No tears for me, I had a very discounted deal and in real cash terms lost very little.
