Stay in South Hampton - High Rated

I suggest you check on TripAdvisor, but search for Southampton, or you will get some strange results.

Southampton in England is only one word  - not like the Hamptons in the USA so your searches will work better like that. Also if you search on these board, you'll find lots of recommendations.   Here's one

I've stayed twice at Premier Inn West Quai, good value for money, walkable to pier (depending on the cruise line). We were with Princess and Royal.

Moxy Marriott is the newest, opening this month (Dec 2019).  Some claim it’s a millennial hotel which I could careless.   We are looking for Something  newer and clean close to restaurants and to the port so this is why we choose this hotel.

Southampton Harbour Hotel and Spa is right on the harbor with beautiful views, great service and lovely restaurant. It is a five star for many reasons.

We stayed at Room2 Southampton (https://room2.com/) and loved it so much we will probably make it our home base next year before our next cruise.

Yes, reading "High Rated" in the OP's thread title, the Southampton Harbour (not to be confused with the Leonardo Royal, which until recently was named the Grand Harbour) is the only 5-star hotel in the city - others are in the countryside around, not convenient for cruisers.

I stayed at The Pig in the Wall. Excellent boutique hotel, right across the street from the port. Excellent reviews on TripAdvisor.
