AndyMichelle Posted December 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2019 Just a thought for the poor people, both cruise line passengers, other civilians and rescue workers involved in the White Island catastrophe where many seem to have lost their lives. I believe it was passengers on Ovation of the Seas that were on excursions that have been affected with some losing their life. Our prayers are with all those involved. Not undermining the troubles concerning bad weather and broken down ships, but at least everyone is safe. Andy

amajaa Posted December 9, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2019 (edited) Not sure if this link will work but someone has posted an update e mail on the situation. Thoughts are with all onboard and family and friends of the missing and of course with those in Hospital https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2715563-ovation-of-the-seas-pax-possibly-injured-in-volcanic-eruption/page/3/#comments Edited December 9, 2019 by amajaa

Very tragic reading. How worrying for family and friends of passengers and crew onboard. #stillpraying Andy
jeanlyon Posted December 9, 2019 #6 Share Posted December 9, 2019 Agree, absolutely awful for everyone concerned, but it does beg the question that this is an active volcano, last erupted in 2016 and there were warnings. Why were people allowed to be walking in the rim - it can't be safe.
amajaa Posted December 9, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 9, 2019 The reports on the page I linked earlier are also saying some from UK.
