SailorMarg Posted December 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2019 I'd rather not travel with my portable fan but I do strongly prefer to sleep with a fan moving the air. Is a portable fan something our cabin steward can provide us?

If you buy a battery operated one, test it at home. The first one I bought stopped after 6 hours which, of course, woke me right up. I tried it again, as we were cruising, and it never lasted more than 6 hours.
robmtx Posted December 9, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 9, 2019 We were given a box fan on Symphony in November, 2019. It was by no means small and stirred up the air quite nicely! ymmv
patticakes40 Posted December 9, 2019 #6 Share Posted December 9, 2019 I asked for a fan and they brought me a small one. I don't think that they have a large supply so ask when you get on board.
cb at sea Posted December 9, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 9, 2019 I always bring my own...just a small 5 in. electric desk fan. I MUST have airflow at night....hot flashes...and it doesn't matter if it's 40 degrees or 70 degrees...it's not the temperature, it's the AIR FLOW! I also bring a standard extension cord (no "surge" suppressor) and it's always been fine. Battery fans don't last, and batteries for replacement WEIGH a lot! Just get a SMALL electric one. lovelife Posted December 10, 2019 #9 Share Posted December 10, 2019 I have asked my cabin attendant for a fan on my last three cruises with no luck. 😞
