Majestic Princess in Melbourne today 6 Jan......is that rain ,fog or smoke?

Hi David,

It's light rain and smoke.  The smell of smoke woke me during the night, there's no wind so it's hanging about.

Not sure what it's like in the city, I'm 20 kms out from the CBD.

I posted in the fires thread, the state govt has issued an air quality warning. Smoke trapped under the rain/drizzle clouds.

 

Very unpleasant outside.

Just took this photo of Majestic from Williamstown foreshore. Rain has stopped.

I was there at Williamstown at 10 this morning and it looked like that.   Could hardly make out the ship.   Great picture with those lovely Williamstown swans.

Drizzle only Mic. Had some yesterday morning and Sunday night but in our gauge it only measured about 8 mm which is better than nothing but a decent couple of days' fall is needed all over Victoria and probably more in other parts of the country. I'm sure the garden enjoyed it.
