Just off Getaway and reached Ruby while on ship. I heard on next cruise will receive $400 OBC. Is that correct?

Can you use the OBC on Mani/Pedi in Spa?

Can you use OBC for Cruise Next Certificate?

I pretty much have what I want from the gift shops, so not sure what I would buy with it.

Yes, you should have a letter from CAS in your room noting the $400 OBC.   It will also have your Ruby playing card with the 'Ultra free drinks while playing in Casino' card attached.

You can use the Ruby OBC in the Spa, but I don't know about the Cruise Next Certificates.   We have used it for shore excursions, specialty dinners and shopping on-board.  We do not choose the UBP promo and 'get by' with drinks from the Casino Bar or using the OBC for the few other drinks we buy at other bars.   It's fun that with Ruby you can get 'Ultra' drinks at the Casino bar without an additional charge.  I also ask for un-opened soda cans at the Casino Bar so I can enjoy them in our room.  I usually get the NCL Soda package to get my diet soda drinks at meals anywhere else on the ship and the OBC covers that too.

In addition, you will continue to get the normal 'comps' off your bill at the end of the cruise by the CAS host based on your play that trip.   Have to say it's been hectic sometimes that last day to 'shop' and spend more OBC🤔     One of the first things I do on the ship is check out the shops and pre-plan what I might 'have' to buy to use the OBC.   Another first world problem trying to find what to buy!  Did you know you can pick up memory cards for your phone in the Photo Shop?   Binoculars anyone???

I also forgo the UBP,  and just use my casino drink card for the entire cruise.  I just have the house card, but you can also get un-opened cans of soda with the house card.  I keep my room fridge stocked with cans of soda and bottled waters.

Do you travel with any children? They have the arcade package for $180.00 for the week, perhaps you can kill some money on that and make the kids very happy at the same time. I also love buying expensive scotch and travel exclusives in the duty free.

Got a killer pair of Maui Jim sunglasses that were selling for $225.00 on the ship with some of my OBC. I normally wouldn't spend that much on sunglasses but had the credit so what the heck. Just as an FYI- those sunglasses are really worth it! Crystal clear. Way better than my Ray Bans. Also, some really nice perfumes and occasionally some jewelry catches my eye.

The photo gallery has this cool laser etched lighted crystal block thing that they sell for $99.00 They will use any pic you have on your cell phone to make it and it comes out really nice.

Massages etc in the spa. Also, the spa sells some really nice shampoos, conditioners and hair treatments you can purchase to take home with you. I love the Kerastase  products (high end Loreal salon product) they are cheaper on the ship and no tax so you can kill some money on that if you like that kind of stuff.

Shore excursions, pocket books, shoes, clothes, watches, art (not a fan of on board art but some people are), Starbucks, Bingo, deal or no deal, laser tag/ go karts on the newer ships, etc. You'll have fun trying to figure out what else you need lol. I recently bumped up to Elite so I have $1,000 to try and spend.. Fun fun.

I am Ruby and have been the past few years. As mentioned above, you get all the welcome letters, OBC certificate and a few other papers in the folder which will be in your cabin on embarkation. With Ruby you also get 400 minutes of Wifi which you can upgrade to the Unlimited for a minimal fee.

On top of the $400 they provide right off the bat, I usually accumulate enough points for them to add additional OBC at the end of my cruise. So I understand how hard it can be to spend it since the gift shops (in my opinion) are dwindling down on really good merchandise.

Additionally, you can use any CAS onboard credit on Spa/Shore Excursions. I just recently had an absolutely beautiful Villa in Silver Cove on Great Stirrup Cay. I didn't pay a penny out of pocket for it which was VERY nice. If Great Stirrup Cay is on your itinerary, I'd highly recommend doing Silver Cove for a really nice day/experience.

Just some ideas... (and thanks to those above who also have given me ideas for my next cruise!)
