TV in cabin

We are bringing some downloaded TV shows/movies to watch onboard.  Have iPad, and HDMI cable.  Is it possible to connect it to the in-cabin TV set?  We don’t spend much time in our cabin, but occasionally have some downtime.

Don;t believe you will be able to connect to the TV.  You would have to change the input to HDMI even if you could get to the HDMI input and the remotes don't allow you to get into the TV settings.  Sorry about that and mostly the same with most cruise lines.

Agree with rallydave.  However, on the ships that have the new TV systems, the on demand movie/tv show selection is quite extensive and you should have no problem finding something that you would enjoy.

When we first turned on the TV (refurbished Regatta, about a month ago) we had a little bit of trouble trying to get past the opening "Oceania" section and into everything else.  I don't remember what the sequence was of what to push, but with a little trying, we found everything we wanted - music and movie channels, replays of talks by on-board lectures about the places we'd visit and history/nature, etc., plus the bow cam, talks by Destination folks about excursions, short daily Cruise Director talks,  the day's dinner menus, current balance (invoice), etc. (The music channels (highest numbered channels) were a bit weird.  When I had a particular channel playing, there was something on the screen that mentioned another channel, and the type of music playing during various times of the day.  I assumed the displayed channel was the one that was playing, but I don't think it was.)   If you have trouble getting out of the opening screen just play around a little - or ask your cabin steward to show you how to do it!
