11:50 AM Flight Departure in Sydney

We will be arriving in Sydney on Saturday,  December 5 on the Oosterdam.  Our scheduled arrival time is 6 AM at White Bay Terminal.  This will be our first stop in Australia after several stops in New Zealand.  There is an excellent flight back to the US that departs at 11:50 AM from Sydney International.  If we self disembark and take a taxi, can we make it to the airport by 8:30 to 9 AM?

Yes, as long as the Oosterdam makes it in on time and is cleared on time. Possibly make it by 9 am depending on traffic. It could take 45 to 50 minutes to travel to the airport. How long before your flight does the airline require you to check in?

I wouldn’t try ,you probably will make it  But you will be going through customs if it’s you’re first port in Australia. We have bio security checks from a pig flu and now Coronavirus.
 We were on a domestic cruise and it took a hour.

Stay a night and be sure.

OOsterdam is a smaller ship so disembarkation doesn't take as long. In normal circumstances, you should be able to get there in that 8:30-9a.m window.

 

The unexpected can happen though so ensure you have a backup plan if you choose to go ahead.

What a nightmare!  Took us over 45mins and only 500pax on board.  

 

You should be OK if only ship in port..

Weird. Every time I've gotten off at White Bay (at least 5) it's been super smooth and quick, and that's with 1500-2000 pax ships.

We have only disembarked at White Bay once and it went very smoothly. We were off and on a shuttle to Central Station very quickly.
