Adeles1 Posted February 12, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2020 We are doing a 14 day fjords cruise on the Nieuw Statendam in July and although we have cruised once before with HAL in the Med we booked ships excursions in both the tender ports. We have cruised with Celebrity and Oceania once each as well but there were no tender ports . We have never therefore dealt with tenderer tickets. We know from the website that the possible tender ports are Eidfjord,Gerainger and Flam. We believe that we will be docked in Flam as the port schedule shows us as docked and believe it is likely to be docked in Eidfjord but assume Gerainger will be tendered .We are aware that can change and all three could be tenders. How do tender tickets work and realistically how long is it likely to get off the ship?( We have no sort of priority) . Is it safe to book something for an hour and a half after the scheduled arrival time. I know there are no guarantees but is it a reasonable risk or impossible? We wouldn’t mind how early we had to start queuing.I have tried searching but couldn’t find an answer. Thank you to anyone who replies.
Rare ski ww Posted February 12, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2020 We're also doing a 14 day cruise on the NS, 5 - 19 Jul and have no tender ports. Flam is cancelled replaced with Skjolden. Try for the roll call fro your cruise and ask there. Enjoy your cruise.
Rare Mary229 Posted February 12, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2020 Priority tender boarding is given to HAL excursion participants and 4 and 5 star Mariners. I am an early riser and have usually gotten on to the 3rd or 4 tender with a minimal wait. I have been to Eidfjord and the tender ride is very short so the wait is very short unless there would be rough seas.

Krazy Kruizers Posted February 12, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2020 Since you have booked HAL's excursions for the tender ports, you have nothing to worry about. The excursion tickets will tell you where to meet on the ship and at what time. All those on your excursion will leave the ship together. Sometimes a person is assigned to the group and will escort you down to the tender pier. You do not need to get a tender ticket unless you have scheduled an excursion that leaves a couple of hours after the tender process has begun. Again you will be given instructions if that is the case where to meet ashore and at what time.
catl331 Posted February 13, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Before we had 4* priority I don't recall waiting more than 15 or 20 minutes for our ticket number to be called, but we usually go early, before the crowd really builds up.
