Jcol5786 Posted February 13, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Hello - In 2021 we have a cruise booked on Empress that returns to Miami on a Sunday. There is a really good deal on a direct flight back to Toronto that leaves from Fort Lauderdale at 12 noon. I'm thinking that should be OK however I wanted to get other opinions before we book it. Also any recommendations on how to get from Miami cruise port to FL AP would be appreciated. Thanks
Ken at the beach Posted February 13, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Do early walk off and take a taxi or Uber and you will be fine.
shipgeeks Posted February 13, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Or a shuttle service such as SAS. Book in advance, call their number before you get to Customs.
hannibal54 Posted February 13, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2020 We use SAS, the web site uses ridesas. It is $15.00 per person.
Rare 1025cruise Posted February 13, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2020 This is regularly discussed on the Florida departures board.
JohninDC Posted February 14, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2020 See my reply to the same question you posted on the FLA board. UberX or standard Lyft from POM to FLL will run about $35+ for the car - taxi will be about $70+ on the meter.
Big_G Posted February 14, 2020 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2020 I wouldn't use SAS from port to FLL. They're not exclusive to RCL and you'll be stopping to pick up other people at other ships. We've used them and witnessed another couple panicking that they would miss their flight. I don't recall their flight time. Uber or Lyft is your best bet. Taxi will cost you $80+. We've used SAS several times. When you reserve with them through their website, if you walk off with your luggage before 7:30, when you clear customs, call SAS and they will be there to pick you up by 8:00. We've made 10:50a.m. flights out of FLL.
