travel kettles

I will be cruising on HAL soon and am curious if travel kettles are allowed. I plan mostly on room service but sometimes like a bedtime cup of tea. 

Any thoughts, suggestions appreciated.

Not allowed, sorry.  Your options would be room service or going up to the Lido.

Hi gumba1. There is a recent thread regarding this. No kettles to be brought onboard. Sorry.

Here is an extract from 'Know Before You Go'.

For safety reasons, travel irons, and electric water heaters/
kettles may not be used in your stateroom. You may order hot
water from our complimentary In-Room Dining service 24 hours
a day.

If you do manage to get a water kettle onboard, consider this.

Your cabin's fragile electrical system probably cannot handle the load required by your kettle.

Plugging it in will most likely trip the electrical breakers that power your cabin.

Since cabins are normally grouped in 3's and 4's on the electricity grid, all your neighbors will be blacked out as well.

Then you have to telephone Reception, report the outage, and wait for an electrician to restore power to you and your neighbors.

It’s more likely to be that they’ll be called to the naughty room and the kettle will be confiscated.
