gumba1 Posted February 21, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2020 I will be cruising on HAL soon and am curious if travel kettles are allowed. I plan mostly on room service but sometimes like a bedtime cup of tea. Any thoughts, suggestions appreciated. gumba1
Alberta Quilter Posted February 21, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2020 Not allowed, sorry. Your options would be room service or going up to the Lido.

No kettles to be brought onboard. Sorry.
Rare VMax1700 Posted February 21, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2020 Here is an extract from 'Know Before You Go'. You can read or download a copy from the HAL website, by going to 'Already Booked' and selecting 'What to Know before you Go@. For safety reasons, travel irons, and electric water heaters/kettles may not be used in your stateroom. You may order hotwater from our complimentary In-Room Dining service 24 hoursa day. Donald Posted February 21, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2020 If you do manage to get a water kettle onboard, consider this. Your cabin's fragile electrical system probably cannot handle the load required by your kettle. Plugging it in will most likely trip the electrical breakers that power your cabin. Since cabins are normally grouped in 3's and 4's on the electricity grid, all your neighbors will be blacked out as well. Then you have to telephone Reception, report the outage, and wait for an electrician to restore power to you and your neighbors.
Rare *Miss G* Posted February 21, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 21, 2020 It’s more likely to be that they’ll be called to the naughty room and the kettle will be confiscated.
