Sea Days

What do you do on your various sea days onboard p&o ships? 
 

looking for good ideas. I don’t think the various “learn to manage pain” or “reflexology help” will be something we will do.

Spend it relaxing and people watching, spaced out with a nice cocktail and a a lie-in.

Browse the daily horizon paper to see what is going on and decide which we fancy and, more importantly, which fit in to our likely timetable.

Hopefully an interesting lecture in the theatre, a quiz somewhere or maybe a movie, or possibly shuffleboard. Not sure those would be interesting to your little girls though.

Of course once it gets warm and sunny then find somewhere to sunbathe, or people watch on the Prom deck.

Pick a good book from the library and people watch.

Try my luck in the casino !

Have to fit these activities around breakfast,lunch and  afternoon tea{all in MDR}

Then bath,G&T and dress for dinner.

what are the quizzes and bingo like? 
 

my kids like bingo but I think it might be too fast for us and I like quizzes. Just not so good at them.

The quizzes are usually fun and done in teams. I think there is a minimum age limit for Bingo and it can be expensive.

What a nice change to have a post like this compared to some recently. We usually have a leisurely breakfast followed by a stroll around the ship. The quizzes are a lot of fun especially when the host gives a wrong answer and everyone objects! Spot of lunch somewhere then chill on the balcony in the afternoon with a good book 😁

We usually do the progressive quiz. Its a team quiz that runs on sea days and your points get tallied up on the last sea day.

 

Sometimes do the theme quiz as well.

We enjoy a latish breakfast, then walk a couple of miles around the prom deck before a leisurely lunch in MDR. Maybe a film or talk in the afternoon or relaxing on the balcony with a good book.

Eat, drink, sleep, repeat.. 😊

Cruising is the only real time any of us get to properly relax, so we tend to make the most of it. 

Never bored on a cruise, even when doing absolutely nothing.

But there is also an individual quiz,   typically held at around 4:30 each day.

Kids Club?

Leisurely breakfast. Gentle couple of turns around the prom deck. If the weather's good we'll  either find a spot on deck and have a read. Or sit on the balcony if Frank wants to do some watercolour painting. Light lunch another meander and then a nap, essential so we can stay awake for late dinner followed by a show.

We look at what activities are scheduled for the kids club and if there is something that they want to do we plan around that.

Last summer on sea days (only had 2) morning kids were in the club, making lanyards, painting T-shirts etc,  then we took part as a family in the open to all bowling tournament, in one of the lounges and using a Wii console.

Eating, swimming, deck games, treasure hunt, and more eating filled up the day.

There are usually activities aimed at the whole family, just have a look at the daily newsletter.

yes am definitely going to look at these

 

they really liked the kids club last year but they were together. This year as they are 5&4 they will be split and I can see this being an issue for them. Plus it’s a school holiday so probably will be packed.

easy really two hrs in the gym than 5 laps around the deck than wake up breakfast collapse on the nearest sunbed to catch up on my sleep repeat for rest of the day

I think if you ask the kids club organisers they will put both girls in the same group if you insist.

Don't forget the TV in your cabin if you run out of stuff to do outside it.  Several channels, including live TV (of sorts), free films, and repeats of the port talks and other talks you might have missed.
