Just booked a cruise and I feel much better

We rebooked yesterday on the Eurodam leaving December 9. I was pleasantly surprised that the cost increase wasn’t as much as I expected. Transferred the air  arrangements over to the new date with no fee and no increase in cost. Same with the overnight at a hotel. I felt a sense of relief getting that done. Now to be patient while we wait for December.

I have July 11th Canada cruise booked. Not to burst your bubble but Canada closed it's ports through July 1st. Hoping they don't extend that.

We have a May 30th cruise scheduled, but we know that is not going to happen.  Trying to figure this one out also.  I don't want to book for July and see that one cancelled again.  Maybe August will be a go?

It would help if Holland America would be more proactive and give us some type of communication on our Msy 30th Canada cruise.

From what I’ve read it sounds like it depends on Canada. If they keep their pirts closed it will be hard for any cruise line to go to Alaska.

I know that Canada has closed their ports until July 1st and so does HAL.  It would be nice if they would either cancel the cruises or provide us with an updated itinerary.  Waiting..... Waiting.... Not going to wait much longer before I cancel.

Taking back all deposits from 4 different lines because cash in hand is more important to me.  Perhaps I am a bit stung at how HAL still insisted they would be doing a cruise even when the French Polynesian ports were closed and nobody else was allowing or wanted ships prior to the shutdown.  We were supposed to leave tomorrow for 28 days on HAL.  Took my cash back because depending on FCC was not a position I wanted to put myself in.

That being said I wish everyone who booked the best of luck and I hope you all get your cruises.

I may change my mind in the near future but I want a lot of choices just like I had before all this.  At this stage nobody knows what is going to happen so we each have to do the best we can for our own personal situations.

I am more concerned for the working people who may be going without pay or hours and how these cruises are a reward for their hard work and now they may be struggling.

I did buy stock in a two of the Big 3 so I am still trying to do my part in a small way to help the industry.  Rough seas right now but soon all of us will be cruising in smooth waters

It’s a hard decision knowing whether to wait it out or cancel now. We were to sail next Friday with HAL. I chose to wait it out until they cancelled.  I haven’t regretted that decision since we got more credit that way. We have now booked a cruise for December using the 125% credit HAL gave us. The price was slightly higher but manageable.
