So sorry to read that Sue, I really hope the PCR test is negative and that you get to see your Grandson on his birthday!

Glad to hear from you, you’ve been quiet lately.

A meal was booked for lunchtime at a local place for Joshua so we still took my mum there (they’d been to the soft play area before at Dobbies) then we went back to their place for presents. Then we rushed off to the hospital! At least we saw them. Her family were all coming over after they’d been at work so a busy day for them. I took lots of photos for my Dad, he was very sad to miss it.

Some food porn for tonight, to start of with canapés, then duck liver with sauce & brioche, Langoustines in sauce, turbot in a sauce, pigeon with a port sauce, pea & mint sorbet, and heaven on a plate Cointreau soufflé, then chocolates to finish, had the wines to pair with each course and the whole evening was a fantastic experience and the Ritz hotel lovely and grand and all the waiters had different uniforms a little bit military look about them but really down to earth guys and not snooty, which we could have a laugh with .

Well it’s all gone a bit bad here I’m afraid.

Joshua’s mum tested negative- hooray! Then …

About 9-15am Wednesday I phoned my mum for usual daily call and she said my Dad had just been taken to hospital in an ambulance with chest pains!! They’d waited 45 minutes for an ambulance and she hadn’t told me. She kept telling me she was alright but we both had a little cry. They told her they’d probably bring him back in a few hours. Well he’s still at the hospital, he’d had a ‘small’ heart attack.

Luckily Wednesday is my day off and as it was the day before Joshua’s birthday his mum was off to make cake etc so I didn’t have him. I decided to get the bus over to my mum. Good thing I did as a cardiologist called their landline a couple of times and my mum’s speech isn’t great so I was able to do that. When John got home from work he came over and mum made us dinner as she’d got it all ready for Dad bless her!

She’s been staying with us since, there’s no way she can be on her own.

My poor Dad didn’t get into a ward til nearly 10pm!!! Luckily he has his mobile phone with him so he’s been phoning us and we’ve been phoning him. Took mum to see him yesterday but only one visitor allowed. So I had to walk her to the ward and then lurk outside. She had her walker and a carry bag with dads things in. When someone opened the door I shoved the bag at him and said ‘can you help her’ and he did , turned out he was a doctor!

The reason I’m so early is mum came into our room at 430am worrying where she’d put something…! This is not going to be easy.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. Your Mum is obviously, and very understandably, fretting - a difficult time for all. Hopefully your Dad is getting good care and will soon be home.

Make sure you look after yourself.

Sorry to hear that your dad is in hospital and I wish him well and hope he is out soon, it’s very difficult when only 1 person can visit a day, your dad’s in the right place so you take care of yourself and your mum.

Haven't been here for a  while but have been  watching and checking out  from a distance.

Just to say .... am sitting here in lovely North Wales listening to the sea roaring in at high tide. Just awesome. Its piggen cold but wonderful to see this wave scratch in and the sea just roaring as it comes in at high tide.  We really can't wait to be sailing  again.....

Nice to see you back presto and I also love to see and hear the rough sea crashing against the rocks

It's been a cool day today first time I looked this morning we had 4.c but went out for a

walk which was rather chilly with the biting wind .We have got up to a nice sunny 11.c

and I'm glad to be back in the warmth of our house again .

The Daughter has rung up to give me an update of our Granddaughter regarding the

covid and she was pleased to say she was testing negative this morning  but then

went on to say that she has herself now tested positive :classic_sad: but not feeling too bad .

Her and the hubby have only had one dose of the vaccine so far ,so lets hope that keeps

it mild for her as well . The Grandson is ok and being going to school as normal , which

to me was madness but the authorities said he must go . After a a good chat with her we

are pleased to hear he will not be going tomorrow . He could carry it into school or bring

the infection home . So their household is now back to square  one of isolation .

I haven't seen any of them close up for almost 2 years now , so I feel Harrys pain with his

upcoming family wedding . This covid is far from done with us all yet so be careful guys

and stay safe :classic_smile::classic_love:

I'm really sorry to hear this, fingers crossed for your daughter and family.

My dad is still in temporary care and a couple of weeks ago said that he was staying in his room at the care home full time as there'd been a few Covid-19 cases but he's still ended up catching it anyway (so one of the carers must have brought it to him). On top of that our son (11) has now caught it at school as well despite their best efforts (staff regularly tested, pupils supposed to be tested at home at least twice a week but do all parents really do that?).

Michelle and I are testing regularly and are thankfully all clear. I'm still wearing a mask going shopping and cleaning my hands with gel as soon as I've put the shopping in the car boot but I have to say I find it astonishing that I'm in the minority wearing a mask these days. As has been said, everyone has to make their own decisions and do what feels right for them but the consideration for others that was so prevalent 18 months back seems to have disappeared.

Good morning , sorry to read about your Dad Sue but he is in good hands and they will

hopefully sort him out and he will be back home in no time  Glad to read Graham has

been looked at as well so quick  really . Sorry to hear about your son with the covid Damian .

We decided to give our Daughter a ring around ten o'clock this morning and found out she

was doing fine ,well she must have because we had woke her up but she says all' s   OK

so left her to sleep this virus off . I just hope that with the nasty virus on the increase  that

the un-jabbed out there now go and have the jab instead of the "We will cross that bridge

when we get to it " attitude . Keep safe everyone .:classic_love:

Damian sorry your dad is still in temporary care and caught Covid and now your son has caught it from school, my daughters children keep getting sent home from school because others are catching it in class , what was a nightmare to begin with testing in the beginning with tears on the twins has now become the norm now with out any moans , schools try hard to keep it out , I still wear face mask in all shops and disinfectant all shopping trolleys handles and still social distance in ques, .

I hope your son is not too ill with it , and you and Michelle keep well too

Goodness, what's happened since I last posted on this thread??

Graham, I hope you get your carcinoma treated early. I was very surprised when I read your post about it. Take care.

Sue, I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, but I'm sure he will be fine and back home soon. Looking after your Mum will be a little stressful I know, but knowing that your Dad is in good hands will be of some  comfort. Don't forget to look after yourself too.x

Damian, I hope your son recovers soon and that his symptons are mild, and that your Dad recovers well from covid. I trust the rest of the family are fine? Take care all of you.

Last but not least, our Kalos. Pleased to hear your daughter is feeling much better today, and that it was a mild infection, she's been very lucky. Stay safe Kalos.

We all really have to be careful, and stop being so blase about this tenacious little blighter. Stay safe, take care and keep doing what we all know is right.😷

I had an e-mail for my covid booster a hour back but ended up calling 119 only

to be informed that the system will not let them log me in and could I ring my

doctors to see what they could do . Rang the doctors and they said I need to ring

a local vaccine hub and they will sort me out ,which they did .I wanted my boost

at the same time as Mrs K but she has to wait three  more weeks to clear the

six months ,so they will book us both in after that .

Going back to what @DamianG was saying about people making decisions for

themselves ... I noticed a young woman going door to door with a pen and paper

and she was not wearing a mask ,her choice and also mine if I answered the door .

Well she knocked on the door ,so I went to a nearby window and beckoned her to it .

It was at this point I mouthed the word "covid" , she could not hear me so I beckoned

her even closer to the window pane so she could hear better and that is when I then

shouted "COVID" .  The look on her face as she legged it back up the path was a picture:classic_smile:

As Damian said we can all do what we think is best for us and just like the poor woman

thought it's ok to go to everyone's door unmasked I  also thought I'm entitled to shout

any random word I like within our house :classic_unsure: providing it's not rude .

I hope you guys sailing on the Princess tonight have a good cruise ,take care everyone !

If it is a minor heart attack hopefully there is no heart damage and they will put a cardiac stent in the artery that caused the heart attack.

My doctor wasn't sure so took photos and referred me to the dermatologist as a routine case.

The original appointment was for December 2nd over 3 months later so I rang weekly for an appointment and got yesterday.

We were staying 2 nights in Harrogate so I drove back to Sunderland for the 9.40pm appointment yesterday then we drove back to Harrogate afterwards for our second night away.

We ended up at Junction 32 M62 shopping outlet yesterday.

I hope you and Frank are well.

Graham.

So sorry to hear about the various health problems that some of you and your families are having. I hope everyone is soon on the road to recovery.
I’ve not been posting much on CC recently as have had a lot going on, but have been lurking and finally caught up with all the posts that I have missed.
I agree with everyone’s comments that we need to continue to be very careful as the virus is so active. Our neighbour (late 60s and fairly healthy) although double jabbed has just been hospitalised for 2 weeks with Covid. Thankfully he is home now, but still not back to normal.
So many people seem to think it’s time for life to go back to as it was, but we are in no hurry to resume some of the things we used to do!
