I'm a real 'foodie' and if you can afford it, the cost is irrelevant. I enjoy everyone's food photos and have often tried to replicate some at home. Bro has inspired some of them too. I would never have tried fried courgette flowers or using olive oil to replace suet. There are more on here who enjoy the food photos than don't and it's easy to simply scroll on past. So let the food porn continue☺️ Avril 18

I, and I'm sure a lot of us on here, love your photos and your captions. IMO what could be nicer than visiting a beautiful place of history and having delicious satisfying food to go with - a completely enjoyable day. Rare P&O SUE Posted July 15, 2023 #47607 Share Posted July 15, 2023 It has been quiet on here lately. Personally I only had a short time to look yesterday so I focused on Selbourne’s ‘live’ thread ☺️ My GP keeps sending me texts to send them my blood pressure readings but I don’t have my own machine so I haven’t bothered. Since I’ve started taken BP tablets in 2018 it’s been fine. Anyway yesterday I decided to bite the bullet and phone them. I waited half an hour to get through. I started at no 6 in the queue. Anyway she offered me an appointment with the nurse on 31st July, sooner than I thought! I told her they hadn’t asked me to get a cholesterol test this year (only sugar, they seem obsessed with diabetes) She said ‘ahh yes it’s flagged up!’ Then why hadn’t they contacted me?! Trouble is the wait on the phones puts me off phoning! John had a text to book his ‘well man’ check but tried for three days before he got through. Anyway, happy that’s sorted!

I always envy you when you trot off to Italy bro, but maybe not this time🥵 Sis

I asked him several times what happened to his socks with only mumbled replies, then he held my face and said ‘I already told you, they got wet so I threw them away’ 🥴😂 Fortunately the nursery staff found them at the end of the day. They do say some funny things!

I have had BP issues for 40 years and have been on meds now for over 36. I'm sure you know that it is important to keep a regular check on your BP, even if you feel fine it doesn't mean your BP is ok. I check my BP weekly, more if it's elevated, and phone my readings in when they tell me. You can buy an Omron wrist monitor, the best and easiest to use IMO, on Amazon for as little £30. Please be careful with your BP Sue, it's important.x Avril

I enjoy your photos, whether it’s a McDonalds treat in the car by the sea, or the fine dining you so often do. By the way, I also chose fish and chips in Epicurean on our last visit just 2 months ago, and very good it was too 😊. 5

Rare Megabear2 Posted July 15, 2023 #47620 Share Posted July 15, 2023 Nothing better than a good food picture. Often looking at them inspires my eating plans for the day. Currently here in Kefalonia the thermometer has just hit 40°C and a white steam like cloud is forming over the ocean in the distance. I'm astonished at the number of sun worshippers sprawled around the pool area, many already burnt to a frazzle. Our next door room mates had to have the doctor out to their 12 year old son last night after he collapsed with heat exhaustion in the dining room. They'd gone to the beach at 6.00pm the evening before for a 20 minute swim and spent all day yesterday on the shaded terrace and in their room and the lad has still been struck down. He's now on medication to rehydrate him and confined to the room for the next 48 hours. I cannot believe how stupid some people are being.

We actually tested it at the surgery and the readings were the same as the arm monitor he uses. I'm glad it works for you. Avril 2

Quite - not to mention the much longer-term impact in terms of melanoma.
