Took the tube into town to see the revamped Battersea power station.Impressive building full of trendy bars, restaurants and upmarket shops. Not a place I would eat and drink, bit like a mall food court with no outlook.Got a bus to Langans Brasserie for lunch.Well sort ofIMG_20240203_1132389421910.thumb.jpg.94d73c76e8566a7bd5f7e94d05d42d3b.jpg20240203_1116041911.thumb.jpg.3862d6c55162206666e77ad570a1c8f1.jpg20240203_1117001912.thumb.jpg.66dd0f56108f738f6d782602cdd8572b.jpg20240203_1128551913.thumb.jpg.c3bf7ac2efc538eb6f8388027c446be2.jpg20240203_1131041914.thumb.jpg.dfd0afc8f193aa8e8ab0b0f52a7c4fb2.jpgIMG_20240203_1057258921916.thumb.jpg.e9571b134096899adf74e9a07e3797d3.jpgIMG_20240203_1052041341917.thumb.jpg.9a778d1770975d2a123e442bd7346fd4.jpg,M&S food opposite, lol.

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are all having a good day.

We are over in Yorkshire for the weekend, it is my youngest granddaughters 1st birthday party tomorrow along with a naming ceremony for her(with a celebrant). I have booked a lovely cottage for us with views over Shibden Park in Halifax. The photos do not do it justice, it is really nice.

Taking the grandchildren out tonight to a Turkish/Greek restaurant that they love so fingers crossed for a nice meal tonight.

Take care everyone

Michelle

Happy 1st birthday to your lovely granddaughter tomorrow Michelle.

Peace hall at Halifax is well worth a visit if you have the time.

Graham.

Piece Hall is brilliant!! It was renovated a few years ago and now hosts many concerts during the Summer months. There are lots of lovey individual shops there too

Just a dry liver and bacon for us last night.IMG_20240202_1928279411905.thumb.jpg.dab24144028bad08124f87a6e3b847b9.jpg

On the liver and bacon theme, here's mine from last night's Ventura MDR menu. The taste was good but don't think I would have put gravy on the bacon 🤔. The potato part was allegedly colcanon but you needed magnifying glass to find any cabbage or anything other than potato!

We love both versions. In Italy we double fry chicken livers cos we can't get lamb unless we buy half a lamb with it,lol.

Good morning.

It is 8°C and cloudy here.

I'm pleased to say I am back to my pre-cruise weight.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Well done and that was quick 👏.
I have found that 5 lbs might go on during a 1 week cruise and it will then take me 5 or 6 weeks to take it off!

Thank you Gill.

We rarely drink alcohol at home and the bottle of white wine and bottle of Sparkling water in the speciality restaurant every night is a big factor in my weight gain during a cruise.

Lovely photos Graham we had an aft deluxe balcony on Iona that we had to cancel after my op last year so seeing your photos makes me smile.

Thank you.

I'm happy to post photos for lovely people like you to enjoy.

I'm sorry you had to cancel your Iona cruise last year and hope your op was successful and you can cruise again soon.

Yes it was successful but the November cruise was just a bit too soon. We’ve since booked a Christmas markets cruise on MSC, another Iona cruise later this year, and Britannia next year in a suite so we’re well and truly back in the swing of things 😂

This is fantastic news.

We were also on Iona November 11-25th and if you had been on this cruise we would have loved to meet you.

Well done Graham

I don’t weigh myself but, judging by my waistband, any cruise-related gain in bulk has now gone

Back to normal eating, no drinking (dry February, as an antidote to the free drinks package!) and lots of healthy walking with this one

Thank you.

I'm pleased you have lost any cruise weight although you looked very slim when we met you.

Your dog looks lovely and runs fast.

I find that weight always goes on more quickly than it comes off.  I speak as a person who struggles everytime she comes back from a cruise which is why I seem to be on a permanent diet getting ready for my next cruise.

Before my heart attack 4 years ago I was in the gym most cruise days lifting weights and still put on average around 7lbs.

I have always lost the cruise weight quickly by not drinking alcohol once we are back at home.

I just need to figure a way to lose at least 2 stones in weight from my regular weight.🤔🥴

Thank you for your kind words @mrsgoggins.

Here is a few balcony photos from our Iona cruise 13-27 January which made us very happy.

Hi Graham lovely photos, can I ask what deck you’re on ? We prefer deck 14 aft cabins but they were all booked so our next Iona  cruise we have deck 10 aft which I hope is not too noisy for us, love your by the sea  photos also.

Hi @lindylooellalouise.

Thank you for your nice comments.

We were on deck 14.

The clubhouse is on deck 8 as is the Sunset bar but we heard no noise.
