Good morning.

It is 11°C and partly sunny here.

HAL Statendam is in Newcastle today and Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the seas is also getting rudder repairs on the Tyne so we will pop along some time today to see them.

I hope everyone is safe and well and we all have an enjoyable day.

Another day starting with rain here.  I am back on dog walking duty this morning so I think that I will keep him for the day because the grumpy teenagers won't want to get up and walk him.

Have a good day everyone.

Weather for ducks ? We are dry at the moment only one quick shower early on .

Funny how we have our lives revolve around them ,as above with the weather ,

if your rubbish at cricket you can be out for one .

Corrie years ago ,Hilda had them on the wall.  My daughter even has

one for Christmas lunch .

Folk take plastic ones into baths with them and have even taken to hiding

the little blighters on cruise ships now.

A lot of folk love it when duck is on the mdr  menu ( with green beans 😋 )

I honestly think the cruise bosses eventually give cruise punters what they

want ,running tracks ,climbing frames etc .

Do you think ducks could be the future in cruising ?🤔

I have just seen that there has been an eruption of the volcano in Iceland.  We have been to Iceland and feel sorry for the people whose homes are in the path of the lava. It must be awful to not know whether you will have a home to come back to.

Am I imagining it, or has volcanic activity worldwide increased over the last 3 or 4 years?

I'm pleased you're both feeling well enough to get out and about again Graham.

They're herring gulls. No matter what they are called, they are still a nuisance!😠

A bit like teenagers, but they don't borrow the car.

The teenagers that we know have never borrowed parents' cars.  They just don't know how lucky they are having parents and grandparents who buy them cars (usually old ones).

We both had to save to buy our first cars, mine was a 1960 Mini and DH had a 1965 Triumph Herald that he was forever tinkering with, the registration number began with OKY and my dad always greeted him with "OK why is it off the road this time ?"

Hi everyone.

Just popped on here briefly before heading down towards Southampton after lunch. Joining Britannia tomorrow 🙌

We have a boarding time of 1:30 but thinking of dropping off cases and car at midday and then grabbing lunch in town.

I don’t think I’ll do a ‘live from’ this time, it’s been a busy time and I just need to switch off, but might do a report once back. Unless I feel inspired once onboard!

Hayfever is bad this year and I’m nicely croaking even before the cabin air con 🙄

No, you have had so much going on this year.   Just  go up that 'gangplank', step on board and chill.  Switch off with a cool Prosecco!

Enjoy

Other way round in our house,my dad would borrow one of my cars but

as a teenager I had up to 3 cars on the go.

Then I discovered woman so due to the cost cut back to one car .🙂

I couldn't believe that instead of gulls and pigeons, they've got Ibis in Sydney.2ft tall with bloody beaks like daggers.

Sounds great Sarah.

I hope you both have an amazing cruise on Britannia starting tomorrow.

We are on day four of our cruise, the weather has been great with wall to wall sunshine. We sat and chatted with @brian1 Brian and Marilyn last night20240529_133321.thumb.jpg.7f15db87c289d07e867498d6a24f9ac0.jpg. The food has been nice, not a big choice, certainly less than our last river cruise. No complaints from us. We are in Vienna today, our first time, beautiful place but too much to see in one day.

The locals call them Bin Chickens because they like to raid the rubbish bins.
