Hi sis, family are still OK.That was my point,if simple rules were enforced,as I said no big deal,People who are immune compromised and people who are still nervous would venture out with more confidence.Personally I just go with the flow.I was doing the conga with 100 unmasked people at a wedding recently, but that's just me.Cheers,bro.

I think some people must have a naturally immunity bro, Graham's Pauline for example. She nursed Graham through his serious covid infection and never even had a sniffle.

I'm not immunocompromised, but I do have a lung problem and need to be extra careful.

I certainly don't intend to stay in forever. I (should🤞) have my booster next week and when/if mask wearing becomes compulsory on public transport I'll try again. It's  much easier and safer to be out and about when you don't have to rely on public transport, we unfortunately no longer have that option. Take care.

Sis

John, I think we are fighting a losing battle.

I will carry on my life without a mask as far as possible, knowing that many more diseases are far more lethal than Covid.

I'm certainly not going to turn around because someone sneezes !

In normal times we turned around if someone coughed or sneezed as well because we did not want to catch cold or flu.

Happy Birthday Graham and anyone else who is celebrating today.

Did our usual breakfast run to Costa this morning, 17oC on our way home at, last Thursday it was 3oC, it is a degree warmer outside than it was inside, guess I need to open the windows😁

Thank you Phil.

Graham.

It’s very challenging with older parents and I feel for you and your mother. I’n not surprised, sadly, that he’s still waiting to be moved. The hospital situation here in Wales is very distressing. We’re used to travelling long distances but the specialist units seem to be chock a block. Sometimes, it’s the ‘other’ parents who needs more attention though, not the one in hospital!

Anyway, I think you and I are of a similar age and as I frequently tell my brother, we’re fortunate to be this age and still have our parents around! But when you’re still working and in your case, have grandchildren too, it does get a bit much at times, so do look after yourself too!

Thanks so much, challenging indeed. So glad I’m working from home.

Hello all,

My Dad is having an angiogram today and if that reveals he needs a stent they will do it at the same time. Hopefully that will mean he will come home soon. I’ve had one myself so I know what it entails. The doctor said to him yesterday he sounded very calm about it! Not very happy about that, not very re-assuring! At the end of the day he is 84 so I don’t know if that makes it more dangerous. He phoned me this morning to say he’d been given an early breakfast so we’re hoping that means he’s one of the first, they couldn’t give us a time.

I’m not having my grandson today, thought it was just too much with my mum. My son is dropping off a picture Joshua has drawn for Grandpa later 😊.

Thanks again for everyone’s kind words.

Happy birthday to everyone celebrating this week.

Zero plans for today, feeling a bit down. Right in front of me yesterday a couple did the suicide walk stepping straight off the pavement chatting away looking nowhere . An elderly lady driver didn't stand a chance and over the top of her car they went.  Got taken away in ambulances not a fatality but so shocking. I joke about it but it is so real you see it happen every day (not being hit every day).

18 months in to a pandemic, and still people don't get it. *shakes head in despair*

On a happier note, ahead of my husband's 70th birthday tomorrow, we had afternoon tea at home

That looks delicious! Did you have it delivered or made it yourself?

My niece has just called me to tell me that she won't be bringing her daughter to stay with us tomorrow while she, her son and husband go to watch Stoke because her mum has got Covid and her daughter stayed there last the weekend so they are all isolating now.  My biggest concern is for my B-I-L because he has terminal cancer.

We haven’t see any of them since last Monday because I have been avoiding people while I was waiting to have my excision done yesterday.

So sorry Josy, hope everyone is ok.

My son’s partners sister now works in a school, you’ve guessed it she has covid symptoms! So she’s waiting the results. So I’ve made the right decision to not have Joshua I think as she sees him quite a lot.

Goodness, sorry to read about your dad, how's he doing now?

Between having our grandson so often and logging in/posting issues and Windows 10 deciding to lose all my saved tabs when it feels like it, I haven't had a chance to read the forum very often lately.

I don't have my Grandson today though, plus I have put my back out, so I actually have time to do a bit of computer browsing. Our daughter starts a new job next Monday so life should get simpler, set days with the little one rather than it being all over the place.

Hope your back is better now Sarah. Good you’ll have better hours with your grandson.

Oh my goodness how awful. Hope they’re ok but the sad thing is you probably won’t find out.

What a shocking thing to see. It's something I've never seen, nor do I want to. A touch of something medicinal and a relaxing day is on the cards for you today I think.

I saw a 1st this week.PYO pumkins at a local farm.Has this been the norm or have I had a sheltered life.

It has been the norm around here for a number of years, it is the regular half term outing for everyone we know who have youngsters. 🎃🎃

It must be a nightmare for people in schools  they seem to be hotbed of infection at the moment.

You must be disappointed not to be able to see so much of Joshua but as you say it is the right decision for you right now.  I hope that your dad comes through his op OK.
