Pleased to hear your comments Zapp.

We will hold fire on Iona until the apparent imminent news on opening up cruising is made, or not. The Anthem cruise to Spain/Portugal might win out.

Hi. 4G works on and off. That means DW don't spend as much time on FB. Strange experience, talking to each other after 15months. We seem to have quite a lot in common. Still, being married for 46 years does that 🤣.

I think that we have spent more time talking over the last 18 months than we have in the previous 48 years since we met ( 42 years of marriage ) because we have spent so much time at home rather than going out to work or socialising.

Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone,  normally released at night, so not really a drug. I used to take it when on 2 or 3 day trips to the US, and on returning back to the UK, and it did seem to help stop me waking up at all hours of the night. My wife uses it a fair bit,  with some success,  but if she is going through a bad phase of insomnia, it is not too successful.

Never taken Dormidina - my wife is the sleepless one! They do seem to work pretty well, but don't take them in the middle if the night, as you will feel groggy the next day.

Obviously,  I'm not a doctor,  and you might want to research them, and see if they would be of help  to you.

Melatonin is widely used, so might be the first one for you to consider.

Thank you for that, I'll do some research.

Thank you. Ship is great and being back at sea is brilliant. Last time I ever book a cruise without knowing what cabin. We have been on Brittania 5 times and didn't know they had such little balcony cabins. We won't be booking Iona untill we can pick a cabin. Did you all know Iona has balcony cabins on deck 5. That's right , next to where they unload the lorries. No thanks. Don't expect the app to work. Half a ship full of frustrated passengers being told have you booked on the app. Ggggrrr. It don't work. Just waiting for the buzzer to tell us our table in the MDR is ready. Why oh why didn't we think to book on the app. Cos it don't work. You could always e mail head office sir. Cant do that the WiFi isn't working. Great to be on the ship, but the IT can be a pain.🤣

Shame about the app being useless and the cabin/balcony being small! I'm still jealous though 😂

Once you're back maybe you could let us know which cabin you had so we can avoid it in future?

Enjoy!

Will do. The solution is to sit on the small balcony ( we knew that ) and don't look behind you. We don't normally spend much time in the cabin, but one of us took the opportunity to stream home and away. Apparently the streamed version is a few months ahead. That is important. Eddystone lighthouse off the port bow. Love grows where my Rosemary goes. Toyah Willcox in the Limelight tonight.

My niece has just sent me some lovely photos of her and her friend's daughters taken on their last day at primary school this week along with a photo of them together on their first day at school.

I had forgotten that the girls were born on the same day to 2 nurses who had met as students and became best friends as well as colleagues in the same department at our local hospital after graduating together. The girls will be going to the same high school in September, hopefully continuing their friendship there.

Still love Weymouth. I am boring when it comes to fish I just stick to cod.

I forgot to say that we treated ourselves to a shared starter of tempura prawns with chilli dip.  Delicious.  Plump and crispy.  Like being in the Glasshouse … we’ll, that’s what we persuaded ourselves; sea view, suntanned masses, 25°C

daughter and son-in-law had the sharing turbet, I think thats what it was, on the mains £55.00 thought they were mental. Fortunately I was captivated by 2yr old granddaughter wanting the lemon out of the drinks and then pulling funny faces as she was eating it.

That is very true. Seems my wife doesn't work in Woolworths any more - how would I know !

All the balconies are small,  unless you go for a suite!

Turbot for £55 for two is a bargain!

I thought the aft balconies were larger, or are they all suites.

There you have me!

But we are on an aft balcony cabin on Regal Princess (same build  as Britannia) next year, and the balcony  is  massive,  so you are probably right. Not all aft balconies are suites.

I might have got the wrong end of the stick, but I thought Zap meant the actual cabin was smaller than expected, not just the balcony.

Yes, you are correct - Zap was saying that the cabin was smaller than he expected.

Do you mean you have to book for your evening meal in the MDR?  What happens to those who don't have an app?

Only option was freedom dining and no set times in MDR so was a nightmare trying to book we ended up just going down and they would let us in or give us a bleeper.

Good morning ,hope everyones good this morning . It's a bit cooler this morning (14.c)
than it has been compared to some of the past mornings .Wow wasn't it hot during the week?

I fried an egg on a car bonnet the other day which taught me two things
(1) It really was  hot enough to fry an egg on a car bonnet (2) The neighbours get really annoyed when you drop eggs on their car.:classic_unsure:
I hope none of you have been out "Ping /panic " buying this week ?  It's not as bad as the papers make out. I did a quick tour of our Supermarkets supposedly running low on stock......
Sainsbury’s hadn't got any sprouts . Tesco was a bit low on  beans. Asda had ran out of fresh cheesecake  and Aldi hadn't got any  petrol generators and deep sea diving suits and was very

low on WD40 spray.:classic_mellow:
Anyone else ever get that feeling your different to other people ?
I'm not saying I'm lonely and have no friends but I'm I the only person in the country that hasn't

been pinged ?:classic_unsure:
It was nice to see a healthy interest in Formula one racing on these boards, it's great to see

man and machine taken to the limits in his race car. I suppose you all knew that race car is a

race car spelt backwards  anyway and I can just sense you are all now protesting .....

"We Want A Formula One Joke "...When do we want it ...NEOOowwwwww ! :classic_wink:
It's nice to see we are getting a bit of warning for our "pop " passports for night clubs and

other big events . How many passports do we actually need to live in England these days ? :classic_unsure:

Life was so simple in my nightclub days providing you had a decent pair of shoes ,a jacket ,

a proper shirt ,tie trousers ,decent haircut and a face a bouncer could like.. you could get in the nightclub no problem ! Non of this passport malarkey . The only problem I remember was that if you clicked with a lady , you just hoped that her favourite drink was half a lager at those
nightclub prices .I'm so glad my nightclub days are behind me now. Looking forward ,it's

nice to see some pop festivals will go ahead this year but some are still having a few problems. The organizers of the Devon and Cornwall music festival have been arguing over the first act on the main stage. They can't decide whether It should be Cream or The Jam.:classic_wink:

Time to chill out in our garden so I will wish you all a pleasant and safe day .

Take care everyone .:classic_love:
