Requested a Refund and Just rec'd a FCC email

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I know this topic has been discussed. I'm writing because I can't find the phone number for the "higher ups."  My March 21 cruise was cancelled by RC. Upon receiving their email offering the 125% FCC or refund, I requested the refund. I took a screen-shot picture of the "confirmation" that said I relinquished the FCC and my refund would be issued. I never received an email confirming.

Then today, I received an email saying here is your FCC as promised.

Does anyone have a phone number of someone they found helpful in the resolving this issue?

Thanks,

People have spoke where you just call in and speak with a rep and get the FCC converted into a refund. However this starts the refund process timing all over again so while that stinks, I am not sure if anything other than that can be done.

Who has gotten a refund?

Asking for a friend.

I have a cruise for June that they are going to have to cancel due to new CDC rules.  If they cancel can I get a refund? people going with have health issues and do not want to cruise again till things are settled down.

Based on the current policy, yes.

Wait for them to cancel.

Our cruise is set to depart on May 31st and this is what we're impatiently waiting for. And we're extremely nervous that it's going to be a bigger pain in the butt to get the refund if RC doesn't secure more cash liquidity.

Does anyone know if we were to at least cancel our shore excursions on the website, will they immediately issue a refund to our card or convert that to a future credit?

I canceled Shore Excursions (Cruise Planner Purchases) March 11 for a May 16 cruise (Royal still booking for that cruise) and received refunds April 4.

I canceled others April 4 for my Sep cruise and still waiting on those refunds.

You should immediately get emails for each purchase that you've canceled but the refunds might take a while.

Cancelled shore excursions get returned as a refund to the card used to purchase them.

If they were were at risk if not being able to pay the refunds the stock would not be in the mid $30’s.  A major investment bank estimated that they had 10months of liquidity with no sailings.  We’ve been a month.

Thank you, that is reassuring. I almost pulled the trigger to cancel via the website earlier today, but decided I'd rather talk to someone directly, even if I have to sit on hold for awhile.

I’ve called numerous  times over the past month and the only time I have found the hold times to be long is waiting for a resolutions specialist.

I edited Ted my post, it was 10 moths liquidity...still a decent number.

Welcome to CC.

Cancel everything you can in the planner now online - then wait for RCI to cancel the cruise itself.

I just got off the phone with an RC rep and got our shore excursions cancelled. He said it would take 2-3 weeks for the refund to appear back on my credit card.  Now we wait.

Cancelled Cruise Planner Purshase’s haven’t generally taken this long. I’ve cancelled DBP for price drops and rebook at lower prices. Never has it taken 2-3 weeks. Why the change now?  Makes one wonder.

Well, they told me that they will be issuing a refund for one cabin. However, the refund for the second cabin will be delayed. Their system showed that I indicated a FCC for one cabin and a refund for the second cabin. I'm not sure how they mixed that up.

The rep said he made a note in the system. The first cabin's refund should be coming "shortly." The time-period for the refund for the second cabin will start over - so another 30-90 days.

Thanks so much for all your help.
