My wife and I were booked on Crown Princess for a Mediterranean cruise departing Barcelona on April 11, 2020. Like the rest of you, our cruise was cancelled and we applied for a full cash refund. We were told that refunds were being processed by sailing date and it could take up to 60 days to receive the refund.

Sixty days has come and gone and I have received no word from Princess regarding our refund. Their cruise specialists at their call centre are not able to provide me with the status of our refund. They are completely in the dark.

In my opinion, Princess has definitely dropped the ball on this one. Any suggestions on where to turn next?

Thank you.

See if you can dispute it with your credit card. I don't know Canadian laws but I have read about those in Canada able to do this.

@Coral Thanks for the heads up on this.  I have a booking I made that was intended to replace my cancelled by Princess 2020 Europe/TA cruise with the same one exactly in 2021.  The new fare was nearly double, so "No Thanks, Princess"  I told my TA right then to cancel, she did ..... this was May 7th.  Princess sure does not want to let go, the booking is still there.  Because of your post I emailed my TA to contact Princess to insure they remove it from my personalizer so I hopefully will not have to deal with that  IF I WAS TO EVER RECEIVE  REFUND AND BONUS FCC FOR MY ABRUPTLY HALTED 2020 WORLD CRUISE!!!!

OK, I just got an email from my TA.  She is on it for me.  I should see it gone within a few days.  She says ....

"They are automatically  applying fccs to bookings without my knowledge and also they send me no confirmations so I don’t know where or when they applied them. It is a nightmare"

Believe me, us TAs are getting as frustrated with Princess as the customers. It is a literal disaster - how could they possibly have messed everything up so badly? In contrast, other lines (while not perfect) are going out of their way to try to make the situation easier for TAs. Just this week, Celebrity and RCCL have enabled full online ability for us to cancel, rebook with FCCs, check status of refunds, lift and shift bookings....why are Princess so behind the curve on this?

I am thinking we may have the same TA..... My TA verbally said the same words.

My husband and I have FCC's available from our 03/15/20 Panama Canal cruise that I cancelled on  03/06.  I picked option #2 that was offered when Princess then cancelled my cruise and others on 03/12/20.  That FCC showed up on my account around May 20th.  All fine.  Then finally got my full refund for same cruise credited to my credit card on June 6th.  Still all fine.  Then sometime since May 20th Princess decided to apply my FCC (and not my husband's) to one of 4 cruises I still have booked for the future.  Is it the first one (for March 10,2021) which would be logical?   Nope.  Ok is it for the second for June 26, 2021?  Nope, again!  They applied it to the third cruise that will happen on August 1, 2021!  Just no rhyme or reason!  I am not going to worry about it as I have all the paperwork backing everything up, but will wait until next cruise needs to be paid for (December, 2020) and then call  and have them apply to appropriate cruise.  I know how slammed they are now.

By the way if you are counting, back on March 6th when I first cancelled it took exactly 90 days to get my refund to my credit card. And I was in the queue before the mass March 12th cancellations and then ones in May, June, etc.!!  Heaven knows when I will get my refunds for my three cruises I cancelled the end of April that were to have sailed in July-September, 2020!!!  But since I just got a big chunk of change back and all details handled correctly even though it took 90 days, I am going to wait until the end of July to see where we guys say we are in getting refunds from cruise sail date wise and see.  Will decide then if I will call my CC co. and dispute or not.  I mean, the charges I would be disputing for 2020 cruises I paid for in 2018 and 2019!!!!  So really, time is not a factor anymore.  I just hope deadline for credit card dispute is what people are saying online which is around 60 days AFTER the sail date of the cruise in question.

I know it is our money and some of us are living differently due to Covid-19, but I am fortunate enough to be able to wait for Princess.  I know why people are so frustrated, but if you do the math, per booking per sailing per number of cruises cancelled, I feel for Princess too.

I posted on another thread that I had received my FCC (although no cash/cc refund) on 6/1. I've been monitoring my cc and Princess page daily checking for additional refunds and FCCs. On 6/6 I noticed my FCC was now zero. They applied the FCC to a cruise that was paid in full on 5/7. I called today and they reinstated the FCC - it IS back on my account now. But really, what in the world is going on? I asked if I could get any information on the status of refund requests that Princess notified me they received on 3/16 and 4/14. The answer was no, they have no idea. I've disputed the largest of the charges just to make sure I at least get that money back. I currently have a provisional credit on my Princess credit card.

 N in PA?

Mine too and the words are the same she has said to me.  I'm ok with the cruise Princess applied my only FCC to as it is one that we definitely will go on (22 Nov).  I check my Princess account each day hoping to see other FCCs posted.

I am just surprised they posted mine to a cruise that had not even been deposited yet. And the hold should have expired over a month ago.

I hope you can go on Nov 22!

I left off the year -  2021.  Every cruise  (5) for 2020 has been cancelled.  I took Option 2 for 3 cruises and no refunds or or bonus FCCs have been received for those.  Did get the port/tax fees on credit card for 2 of the cruises.  The last 2 cruises were Option 1 and got what I call the Basic FCC but no bonus FCCs.

I am so fed up reading the hurdles everyone has facing them just to have Princess do what they ask- either cancel or if you choose an FCC-fine!

This game playing of applying cancelled cruises to newly booked cruises defeats them but do they realize this?

I am waiting on 2 refunds and not booking anything until those $$ are returned to me.

Wow-for lines looking for cash for future bookings, they best work this out for the sailing passengers.

As a fellow TA I agree wholeheartedly. I love Princess, but they have totally lost the plot on this one!!!!!
