So, you're one of the "lurkers", which I appreciate even as much as those who participate... I still can't believe that out of everyone who might run across this, that someone who was actually "there" would see it... My Virgin Voyages cruise has already been cancelled and rebooked three different times now, and God willing, the Carnival Mardi Gras cruise will happen in November, although there are rumors that it's going to be cancelled due to delays at the shipyard...

hi Sid, how much choice did you have for a solo on VV? when I go to VV it's not avail on every cruise or it's a high $$$ cabin. Are you getting Fcc for cancels?

thanks

fun review!

Did you change the number of passengers to one? It won't show you the solo cabins unless you do... I believe one was 900 plus taxes for the 4 night, and 1,125 plus taxes for the five night... I did end up getting the 200% credit when the first one cancelled. I had paid a total of $1500 at the time, and ended up with $3000 in credit...

yes, I did change to 1 sailor and that lessened the cruise choices. If you look you will see many cabins n/a to solos and they steer you to higher end/cost cabins.

Have you heard what comp you are getting if you book now and they cancel? Might be worth taking a gamble, you either sail(which is great) or you get some sort of fcx or they go under and you lose all.

No idea what would happen if if booked now and got cancelled... Things have been pretty rough on this new cruise line already, and I hope they make it...

Hey Sid, great review, thank you.

I’m curious about the Smoke and Fire, do you remember more details, ingredients, methods?

I'm not completely sure, but it had jalapeno infused tequila, mezcal, lime, and a couple more items... Marc Mcarthur went on to win several mixology contests with this, and other unique creations.

  • 2 weeks later...

I found some more pictures on this old phone... Not enough to start a new thread, so I'll just keep going with this one... This must be from my one time on board the Epic...

I think these next few are from one of my four sailings on the Escape... Tyler Grey was the greatest CD ever, and I'm glad that I had the pleasure of sailing with him four times...

Then there was the time I decided to eat cake in the hot tub... Because it was there...

Then there was Clarense AKA Cowboy, back in his favorite place: the five o'clock somewhere bar... He really loved working here, before they transferred him to manning the mojito bar...
