OBC question

Can I use OBC to buy shore excursions and internet packages before my cruise? Or can I only use the OBC once I'm on board. I've got things in my cart but want to use OBC to pay for them but can't find a way on the HAL website to do that.

OBC aka On Board Credit is exactly that - to be used on board, sorry.

Anything you wish to pre-purchase before you are actually on your cruise will be charged to your credit card.

Before the shut-down, someone reported on this forum that if you call HAL Shore Excursions within 3 days of sailing, OBC can be used for excursions. Wouldn't want to try it for an excursion I really wanted. Thinking about it for a cruise where we have quite a bit of OBC and no particular need/desire to explore a port.

This was fact!

Rebooked after cruise cancelled.  Agent said overflow $$ would be placed in my mariner account. Can I use that money for excursions or is it only for future booking?

So that’s the on board credit transferred, correct?  Not future cruise credit?

If it’s OBC and yes that happens then you can us it on board for bookings, wine packages, specialty dining - just about anything but casino play.

If it’s a future cruise credit then that will be credited to your next booking.  It sounds like it is OBC transferred but we can’t confirm unless we know.  If it’s not clear then call the agent and ask.  You really need to know what you have 😉. Knowledge is power 😄

FCD has OBC connected to it.  If that's what you have you should be able to use the OBC to book a shore excursion.

FCC is for the cruise fare.  No OBC is connected to it.

Need to know what you have.

Call your TA.
