Not thrilled with that cabin assignment, lol. We have/had an aft extended balcony for 4 on the Radiance. Those don't exist for 4 on the Breeze. Now I'm TBA... Also, CHEERS, Internet, and Shareholder credit did NOT transfer yet. Update: We went from an 8M to a balcony guarantee and are just supposed to be ok with that... not cool Carnival, not cool... We had a bowling alley balcony next to the aft wrap on the Radiance, but on the Breeze they put us in a standard balcony about 8 cabins forward and it is an adjoining cabin. The cabin we should have been assigned to was still available, so I put a hold on it until my PVP can fix this later. My cabanas at HMC and Amber Cove did transfer over. Also worth noting is that the price is $300 less!😎 Update: Our PVP put us back into the bowling alley balcony of our choice, and then handled the $302 price drop for us. All's right with the world now. Just hope we're able to sail next April. 😎
ProgRockCruiser Posted July 21, 2020 #28 Share Posted July 21, 2020 Weird, I still haven't received an email from Carnival on this. Maybe because I check my Bookings they don't bother, because they know I already know? I've certainly gotten enough email from them previously on other topics (like booking excursions or buying Cheers!), so it isn't like they don't have my email address correct... We have not received the email yet. Found our new cabin last week when I signed in. Hope they transfer the 500 obc. I say it's 50/50 that we sail on 3/13/2020. hkbragg Posted July 21, 2020 #30 Share Posted July 21, 2020 My 2/13 cruise is back in my cruise manager, but I have not received an email. The $200 OBC does not show and our Cheers that I purchased in April does not show up either. They moved us to equivalent rooms. We plan on cancelling since they are waiving the fee to do so. Even though the rate was a steal when I booked, I'd rather just take my money back at this point since it's so up in the air.
Trueblueky Posted July 22, 2020 #31 Share Posted July 22, 2020 TA sent us the new room assignments July 21. She probably received them the day before, as expected. We are delighted to keep Deck 8 adjoining balcony rooms with other rooms above and below us. Great job, Carnival.
TomCruise48 Posted July 23, 2020 #32 Share Posted July 23, 2020 Not happy with our reassignment. We were in a balcony in a quiet area on Lido forward on Radiance. They put us one deck below Lido on Breeze below buffet area where we will get noise from above. There are currently no balcony cabins available on Lido forward on Breeze similar to what we had originally booked on Radiance, so we will probably cancel. Castaway Cowgirl Posted July 23, 2020 #33 Share Posted July 23, 2020 (edited) Also not happy with our reassignment. We were in a bowling alley balcony aft. Now we are in the middle of the ship in a connecting balcony. Did Carnival even look at these assignments? They also did not apply the $200 onboard credit. We scheduled this cruise over 2 years ago and are very disappointed with the entire situation. We are just going to cancel. Exact same thing happened to us but we caught it last Saturday and were able to get moved back to our bowling alley balcony. Check to see if any remain on your sailing then asked to be moved. On our sailing those cabins are now long gone. 😎

JennyD1 Posted July 24, 2020 #37 Share Posted July 24, 2020 I am booked on the Radiance/now Breeze Dec 19 cruise. I had an aft extended balcony on the Radiance and received the same on the Breeze. Very happy with that. I had paid the cruise in full. When the transfer went through, my new booking showed my payment as a deposit, but said i had a balance due of $14,000. Wow. i called my PVP and he got it corrected. My original OBC of $200 shows, but the additional $200 OBC for the ship change does not show. I am not worried about that, because in their original email they said the extra $200 OBC would be added to your sign and sail once onboard. Now I just hope we sail. I have two others booked for October and November which have not been cancelled (yet).

Rare nunuc2000 Posted July 24, 2020 #39 Share Posted July 24, 2020 Definitely not acceptable... STILL have not rec'd an email with new cabin assignment, but went online to find it myself. We were booked on the Radiance for a B2B Dec 5 and 13, in the same room for both legs, a great midship deck 2 location, super quiet with rooms beneath us and excursions desk above (That's such a quiet spot!) Just checked what the new Breeze assignment would be, thinking it should be comparable, right? Nope. Not even close. Two different rooms for the two B2B segments of this cruise, both on deck one, one at the front of the ship, and one at the rear, adjoining rooms no less! Odds are these will be cancelled by Carnival anyway as it's highly unlikely that cruising will commence before the new year, but that's not a reason to mess it up that bad. SMH. You should contact your PVP or Carnival right away. They should have taken care of the B2B cruisers first. Hopefully they can still find a cabin that is open for both your cruises. I know it's unlikely anyone will be cruising this year, but i am hoping for a miracle. Good luck.
Rare Jamman54 Posted July 24, 2020 #41 Share Posted July 24, 2020 (edited) From reading the responses on this thread, it seems that more than half weren't thrilled with the cabins they were assigned to. How hard could it be to re-assign to equivalent cabins especially when going to a bigger ship with more cabins. I know that their task is huge, but a little more attention to detail would eliminate the additional phone calls needed to make things right. 🤔 Edited July 24, 2020 by Jamman54
ugagal07 Posted July 25, 2020 #42 Share Posted July 25, 2020 We finally got a balcony on deck 11. An 8G after we had an 8M, aft extended balcony. Not comparable. DH had a casino rate show up so I asked to move cabins and get the casino rate, save $800 from a cabin we can’t have, and was told no cabin changes or rate changes right now. How bizarre that someone can book a new reservation, but I can’t modify mine. Also, still no Cheers, internet, or $200 OBC. But I have email confirmations for those, I’ll deal with that later. htkodiak Posted July 25, 2020 #43 Share Posted July 25, 2020 We were charged to switch to another cruise. We booked a B2B on the Legend British Isles and Iceland for the end of June.We thought because they changed ships there would be no charge , so now I get an email saying we canceled our cruise and our deposit would be lost,it was a casino rate.We spent more to book the B2B along with what we already paid moved to the new booking. So I'm hoping its just a mistake.Has anyone else had this experience ? ALWAYS CRUZIN Posted July 25, 2020 #44 Share Posted July 25, 2020 Never received any email. However it is on the web site showing our cruise.. They changed our cabin to a lower price cabin and in a terrible place on the ship even though they have the exact cabin and number on the Breeze. We are cancelling and opting for a refund. We wanted to cruise on the Radiance and not any other ship. So we will not be able to cruise on it going to California. Wife will not fly.

I do not understand how, but Carnival must have filled them when they switched over the bookings. I was checking for our new Radiance/Breeze booking to show up every day because I was worried about this cabin situation. I just had a bad feeling about it which turned out to be true 😕. We are on the Thanksgiving sailing and it has been very full for some time. We booked a couple of years ago right after bookings opened, so it is very disappointing in general. Not all Carnival’s fault. Since CCL hasn’t started sailing yet, we have been leaning towards cancelling this upcoming Radiance/Breeze cruise anyway. We do not want to have to pay in full and wait for a refund. But... if they had given us the same bowling alley cabin on the Breeze, we probably would have thrown caution to the wind and just paid in full! I love your reviews. SMH. **UPDATE** Spoke with Carnival, and they said they are unable/unwilling to make any changes to make this right. The only change they said they could make was to move the deck 1 front of ship room from deck 1 up to deck 2, under the galley and near the rear. Ummm... no thanks. We have now cancelled both legs of this cruise, along with our B2B Christmas cruise/NYE cruise on the Magic for Dec 19th and 26th. The plan was to sail B2B out of Port Canaveral for 2 weeks, then drive down to Miami and sail another B2B. This whole experience with Carnival has left a bad vibe, and we're not interested in cruising with them again until they can sort themselves out. Odds are the Radiance/Breeze cruise would likely have been cancelled anyway... and I suspect the Christmas/NYE cruises will be too... those are always completely sold out and packed, and I just don't know how they can manage "reduced capacity" cruising unless they plan to cancel passenger's bookings from under them. At least we know we won't be among those if they decide to do that. Perhaps we'll cruise again later next year... but to be honest, I'm not sure Carnival will be the line we choose. They've fallen far behind in terms of "great cruising experiences and value" over the last few years for us. We've sailed over 40 times on 6 different cruise-lines, and RCL and Celebrity are topping the list for us these days.

shibby sails Posted July 31, 2020 #48 Share Posted July 31, 2020 Never got an email but it was posted on my cruise manager. Went from interior to an ocean view so I am OK with it. It was a casino deal so not going to call for any changes. I think its probably 50/50 that it ever leaves port.
