Escape's Arrival

Looks like the poor Escape and her crew have finally arrived in Manila.  Can hang out with the Joy now.  The Filipino crew can at least see their home now.  I think the Philippines still requires them be quarantined though.

Only 4 ships in Manila Bay, things are looking good to get all the crews on land in August.

Still seven more, not NCL, sitting in open water outside the bay, I guess awaiting their turn.   The Joy has been sitting in the bay or docked for quite a few weeks now.

Back in June it was 25 ships, so we have progress.

Relieved to see that those repatriated NCL crew members destined for Manila & beyond finally reached the destination, after spending nearly 2 months at sea, going more than half way around the globe - given the current protocol of their host/homeland country - they aren't likely permitted to step foot ashore freely for another 2 to 3 weeks (as noted ... sometime in early/mid August).

The process set forth there remained unchanged for OFW, it seemed - "more than 90,000 overseas Filipinos have already been repatriated in the country.  A total of 11,688 overseas Filipinos were brought back home this week (45% sea-based)."

Like just about every other countries around the world, screening measures and quarantine (14 days or longer) are part of the scheme ...

Here in the Americas ... what more can be said.  Be well, safe & wish all to stay healthy !

Has to be some happy and emotional crew, finally home.  Unfortunately, they are returning to no jobs and still a country on fairly restrictive lockdown.   Hope they are permitted off the ship and permitted to proceed to their homes soon.

PI requiring people to take the test and quarantine in local hotels, usually for 48 hours to get test results.  They are only allowing 1,200 people/day to land in Manila airport from foreign countries.  Could be a wait on the ships before they can disembark and be tested.

quarantine two weeks

Just wondering, if the crew has been on the ship as long as they have, why would they have to quarantine for another two weeks?  Haven't they already done that and more?

Philippines government wants their own proof that there is no COVID19 on board.  Cruise lines have been known to misinform.  Now allowing 3,000 people/day to land on international flights in Manila.
