Vista Suite Noise Concern on Zaandam

We are optimistically considering an August 2021 cruise on the Zaandam, but are concerned that all of the Vista Suites either have common areas above or below.  Does anyone know of any of the Vista Suites on the Navigation or Veranda decks (only choices for vista suites) which have no noise issue with the areas above or below?  Thanks,

If I were going  on the Navigation deck, I’d choose the lido Market where it is carpeted.  I’ve had cabins underneath the Canaletto and it is absolutely no issue.  Sadly the S category is under the Canaletto.

I’d avoid the sea view pool (aft pool) and lido pool areas.

For the veranda deck I’d look at cabins above the shops (2 different areas as far away from casino, Mix, etc as possible

Or above the Kings Room which is rarely used these days so should be relatively quiet, I would think.

In addition to what Kazu suggested, I would also look on Veranda Deck port side, over the Hudson Room, and aft of that. You would be over a meeting room, the library and computer rooms, and the Microsoft Studio, and all are quiet, especially at night.
Over the dining room should be quiet, too, unless possibly you go to bed very early.

I was also thinking over the Shops would be quiet because they close at night.  Thoughts?

They close around 11:00 PM. There is constant traffic by them right up until about that time, as the show lets out just before. The traffic is not normally too loud, but there are times it is. Also, it is just across the way from The Mix, which can also get loud.

We had AA6195 on the starboard side of the Verandah Deck. Situated above the Future Cruises office and just ahead of the stairs. Very quiet and very convenient. It's also convenient to, but not too close to the public deck at the stern.

Thanks.  Very reassuring.  I was about to give it up.  🙂  What's the Kings Room?

The Kings Room used to be a dining venue for the Suites for breakfast as the PG does not have ocean views.  I think it was also used for other types of dining for special occasions.

Now, it is basically storage or meetings unless things have changed and I have missed the boat.

It’s a beautiful room with lovely views - a real shame.

I was in a forward suite on the Zaandam.  It wasn’t terrible but you can hear all rehearsals in the theater which can interfere with a nice nap. Other than mid day rehearsals it was not noisy unless you retire for the evening very early.  The Zaandam was my favorite ship with HAL thus far.

Thanks!  No problems with the Explorers Lounge close by immediately below?

The musicians in the Explorers Lounge end very early in the evening. At least by 10:00 PM. And their music, and the audience, are not loud.

Haven't been on Zaandam but multiple times on Amsterdam (same layout) usually in a Neptune suite.  Had a major issue on a 6th floor Vista Suite. Evidently just above deck 5 there are exhaust vents (trash or incinerator?) and if you happen to be above and aft of these you get a rotten odor on your balcony as the ship sails (and the exhaust goes up and back). Happened to us and about 2 or 3 other cabins in a row. In the photo the vent is circled in yellow and the rooms affected are below the red area. I think there may be vents on both sides of the ship and maybe also forward (not sure) and it may have something to do with the bump out of the Lido above deck 7 not allowing air to move up to dissipate but it was a definite problem with these cabins and no one on the ship could offer any fix other than heavy cleaning chemicals on the balcony or air fresheners which only made it smell worse. We paid for a balcony and could not stand to sit out there. So besides noise above and below you, try to see a profile of the side of the ship when booking.
