They are called periods 3-20 minute periods with 15 minute intermissions between the periods.

It is so. Built by James Dunsmuir the estate was more than 600 acres and was basically a self sufficient property. During WW 2 it was purchased by the Government of Canada and the idea was to have the Royal Family out of harms way there; of course King George refused to leave England and so did Queen Elizabeth along with Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret.

As a result the property became Royal Canadian Navy College Royal Roads (after the Navy Anchorage that fronts the property), and later Royal Military College Royal Roads. It is now a civilian University although DND still controls the vast majority of the land. Part of the Castle is open to tours on a limited basis although most of it is used by the University administration.
