portcbob Posted September 12, 2020 #1 Ā Share Posted September 12, 2020 Hi fellow Aussie cruisers. Had a Hal cruise booked for June this year which was obviously cancelled due to covid19. My t/a at flight centre actioned our booking for a cruise refund. After over 100 days of wait I took it upon myself to ring Holland America and was told our refund had been sent back to fc the day before. I contacted the t/a at fc and was told thats good news however your refund could still take another 60 days to receive it from us.. . Is this normal or should I startI demanding our refundĀ Ā
By The Bay Posted September 12, 2020 #2 Ā Share Posted September 12, 2020 I would be questioning why it will take another 60 days. The ACCC has been inundated with complaints about TA's holding onto the refunds.

Probably holding onto the refunds to survive, like pay rents, wages and other bills.Ā But not good enough, the refunds should be handed over to the client right away, have they not heard of direct deposit ?Ā The days of the excuses 'The cheque is in the mail' are all over red rover. Ā We all know fc aka 'The Captain' has shut most its branches, our one in Batemans Bay shut down 5 months ago. Then phone fc and politely quote Mr Kavanagh's statement about refunds being made within five days. All the best.š
