Motorbikes in Ho Chi Min City (Saigon). Crossing the road involved stepping off the pavement and walking steadily across the road while the bikes went around you. It was terrifying initially, but it worked and I am here to tell the tale.

stuck in the mud during a ship's excursion in Madagascar. Thank goodness for the local people who came out in force to help us and thank goodness that it was a ship's excursion because the vehicles were nearly 2 hours late getting back to the ship. I can't imagine what we would have done had the ship sailed without us.

Your monks with the mobile phones reminded me of a forest temple we visited in Mae Hong Son. Sitting to the side so as not to be too conspicuous, we were amazed to see a monk take a small camera from under his robes and take some photos of us. Apparently we were a rarity in the temple😉

M for Merry Xmas Everybody! No, I haven’t gone all festive in September, this little chap lived on our cabin door on Aurora for 10 days last December. He’s motion activated and plays the Slade ‘classic’ if anyone walks past.  We did let him do his thing for a while but turned him off before he started annoying people. Plus he frightened the steward.
