My Iphone downloaded the new Update:

Version 1.26.0

With a completely re-imagined onboard guest safety briefing, the app features information and sends notifications to make sure you complete the briefing prior to the ship sailing. We’ve also made shore excursion tickets available in the app, replacing the need for paper tickets when possible.

So what does a non-phone carrying, non-USA phone provider customer do?

If internet is available in the terminal life could be so much easier for those not tied to a phone.

Safety briefing will be available on the TV in guest rooms.  
The app does not require a internet package once on the ship, but for those without a phone or tablet they will have to provide paper tickets for excursions, just like for menus they will have to have some paper ones.

I think I'll stick with the paper tickets for the shore excursions.  I typically don't carry my phone ashore.

 My phone is also my camera so it goes ashore with me.

I also have to take a charger with me, as I typically run out of battery.
