Does anybody have any experience with this?

With all of todays cancellations you can’t get through to chat with anyone from the casino offer desk.

i have read about Princess policy and was curious if it extended to Holland.

Thanks in Advance

Mine was a casino offer also.  It sounds like we have to take a refund or a FCC.  I am hesitant to take the FCC, because they may not give us another comp.  Then, we would have to pay a whole lot more.  I have a call in to my girl to ask if I can be placed on another cruise.  I will let you know once I have heard back.

I checked on this a while back. I had booked off an email offer last spring for a free cabin with drinks and play. Had checked if I had any options to move my January cruise to a different date. Was told no, that I would be able to get the cash refund of my deposit or the FCC if it was canceled.

I happened to be on the phone with my PCC when the news hit.  We decided to immediately book another casino offer that I had outstanding, as it expired Nov 25 and she said that with this news it likely will fill up fast now.

How they will handle moving the credits is still unclear, even to my PCC, as the existing reservation was comprised of multiple credit from other cruises.

I would recommend that you quickly pick a new offer if you have one and put it on hold until they figure it out - I am not giving them any more cash!

My new reservation shows a Final Payment date in full of Dec 5, 2020.

My 2 Jan cruises (couldn't book as 1 14-day, had to book 2 7-day) were "free" OV offers (pd $200 each + taxes/fees).

I don't use a PCC, I use a TA now.  How do you know if you have a casino offer?  When I log in, I see "private sale" or the Have It All options.  I'm looking to rebook the same sailings on NA for December.  I can book either separately or as one 14-night sailing.

If the separate sailings were available as casino fares, they would show up with the same $200 fare (or at least a reduced fare), right?  They don't.

Since I couldn't apply the FCC from my cancelled Zaandam sailing (which was a significantly-reduced casino fare) to either January "free" bookings, I'll have that and the small FCCs from the 2 just cancelled that I could apply.  I'm assuming I can apply all the FCCs to one re-booking.  The new ones aren't showing up in my account yet.  I only got a cancellation email for the 2nd leg of the B2B; haven't received it for the first leg, yet.

Really wish that when you log in to your account, you could see what offers you have available.  I'm used to Carnival, which shows everything from casino fare, to Early Saver, to past guest, to resident, to senior.  You can see them all at a glance and compare.  At least on HAL I can see my FCC/OBC.  Carnival doesn't do that.  I'm having to track it on a spreadsheet (I have 6 cancelled cruises so far).  Some I've applied; others I'm waiting to see what happens in the next few months.

The way we know that we have a Casino Offer is through an email or direct mail from HAL's casino operations.   If we look on-line, we can see that we have an offer on a specific sailing when we notice that the fares are FROM $200 (current promotion).  When we click on that sailing it shows the fare as a PRIVATE FARE.  The current promotion we have is for 7 day cruises, beginning in April and running through Dec, 2021.

I haven't checked my mail in about a week.  Last offer (for the 2 I booked for Jan), the mailing stated that they wouldn't be sending any more snail mail and they need my email.  Well, HAL and the casino group, I think, have had my email forever, but I don't get emails from HAL other than directly related to booked cruises.  I've checked my profile many times and, yep, my email is there!

Guess I'll just have to log in and scroll through dozens of cruises to see if any show up with cheapo fares.

Also, check your SPAM file.  Sometimes offers can end up there.

I do.  I'm still looking for the cancellation email for the first leg of the B2B.  And when I had my TA switch my 1/9 booking over to the Casino offer, I had her check with HAL to be sure they had my email and she said they did.

But I still don't receive emails from them.  I have started getting things on my FB feed suddenly, though!  Lucky me!

I used to go to Ocean Players Club website and check to see if I had an offer but that seems to not exist any longer.  If I search, it takes me to the Carnival Corp page and I can send a requests under the "request casino offer" for HAL and the other lines.  Maybe I'll just try that and see if I get a response.

FTR, I did email the casino and got a response from Giselle that, no, sorry, can't move that offer to identical sailings later in the year, but don't worry!  They will send out more casino offers in the future!

My "problem" with these offers is that, in normal times, by the time I'd get the snail mail offer, any cruise I might've been able to book no longer had the cheapo cabins available.  That plus the fact that HAL pulls their ships out of the Caribbean just before I'm able to sail (I'm a CPA so definitely can't sail from late Feb to mid April!) severely restricts the dates I'm able to book.

Oh well.  As with pretty much everything these days, will just have to wait and see.

Question - if I don't request a refund, will I be able to apply 3 FCCs to one booking as long as the base fare exceeds the total of those FCCs?

You should be able to.  I combined three cruises payment made into the one that just got cancelled, so now have to hassle with that again.

I filled out the form that was sent with the cancellation notice on Monday and this morning I see that I now have $500 pp in FCC, but they owe me a bunch more, so I will have to get with my PCC after the holiday to fix I guess.

I only ever got the cancellation email about the 2nd leg of my Jan B2B.  Guess I could have my TA call and see if she can get both FCCs.

Thing is, if my Carnival Med/TA for October (which are replacements for this past October) end up being cancelled (they cancelled the eastbound TA and some Europe but not all - I mean, they need to get the ship there, right?), I may want to book on MSC or NCL, assuming they'll sail as scheduled.  Some of those would overlap with the NA I'm looking at booking.

Oh for the Good Old Days when schedules were set a couple of years out and all we had to whine about was the occasional port change!

Just a heads up on the Casino Offers.  My friend just booked a cruise under the Black Friday promotion and it ended up costing about the same (all things considered) as a regular booking using the casino fare (I think he got a 20% discount).  Plus, this way he can cancel up to final payment date.

So, sometimes even a FREE cabin is not as great a deal as one might think.  Do your homework and check out the casino rate.
