The EU inching toward a vaccine requirement for most travel

We have been following the covid stats for Italy, Greece, Cyprus, and France.    Past two weeks trends are not good.  Going the wrong way.

We were hoping to do some Sept-November land travel in these countries.  We are not hopeful.   We are basing our expectations for travel on the actual week/month covid numbers and trends for those countries we would like to visit.  Too much other  fluff, nonsense and idle speculation in the media to do otherwise.

Cases are currently on a plateau in Israel where apparently a large percentage of the population has been vaccinated.     But that plateau still very high compared to previous plateaus.   This does not give me the warm and fuzzies about any international travel this year.

Agreed.  I am thinking of another car trip this summer even though this one would likely dip below the border.
